Stampede Roundup: Calling all volunteers

By Ryan McCracken on March 8, 2024.

Things are heating up in anticipation of another unforgettable summer here at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, and we’re still on the hunt for more hands to help with many of our volunteer committees.

The Stampede continues to thrive and evolve in Medicine Hat thanks to the strength of hundreds of annual volunteers, and we’re thrilled to offer rewarding and meaningful avenues for Hatters to become part of our community and help shape our legacy for the future.

While we’re certainly busiest in late July, we have dozens of options for volunteers to lend a hand at all times of the year, from the Broncs and Honky Tonks Indoor Spring Rodeo (coming up quickly April 19-21), to the Queen Committee and all the way through to the Beef Pen Show and Cowboy Christmas Trade Show.

Other committees on the lookout for new volunteers include Country in the City; All Breed Horse Show; Parade Committee; 50/50s; Methanex Kiddies Day; Co-op Pioneer Village; WPCA Chuckwagons; Better Living; Visual Arts Show; Health and Safety; Olde Tyme Christmas; Night Shows and more.

All of our committees offer flexible hours and volunteer options, as well as perks like our annual volunteer appreciation barbecue in the fall.

If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer at the Stampede, go to mhstampede.com/get-involved and fill out an application form or simply drop by our offices to say hello!

Cars & Guitars

The Stampede is excited to announce it will be co-hosting this year’s Cars & Guitars event on Aug. 10 alongside the Cypress Rod and Custom Car Club, so mark your calendars for the annual summer celebration of hot rods and hard rock.

This all-day event will feature a trade show on the Stampede Grounds throughout the afternoon – with local food and retail vendors, family activities and more – followed by a concert at our Grandstand, featuring CCR tribute band Canadian Coldwater Revival and local country artist Morgan Klaiber.

Keep your eyes peeled on our website and Facebook page for more information on this event and the many more set to take over the Stampede Grounds in 2024.
