At the Esplanade, we love seeing the flurry of wedding inquiries that come our way between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. It’s always interesting how more folks seem to be catching the wedding planning bug in January and February – maybe it’s those cozy holiday engagements or just the chillier weather keeping everyone indoors.

Now, let’s talk about what makes the Esplanade so special – our rooftop terrace! Imagine saying “I do” with the sun setting in the background, followed by a reception in our Studio Theatre. If you’re considering the Esplanade for your big day, the key is to check if your dream date is available. Once it’s a go, we’ll set up a time for you to come and take a peek at our amazing spaces.

Planning a wedding involves a ton of details. Like, do you need to book time for a decorator? And when will they be arriving to collect their d̩cor Рright after the party or the next day?

Plus, what about your caterer? We want to know all the nitty-gritty details so we can give you a spot-on estimate. If you have questions for us, chances are we’ve got the answers, covering everything from room capacity to table options.

To get started, head over to our website http://www.esplanade.ca and check out our rentals page under the services tab. There, you’ll find all the info on room rates, extra charges, and a bunch of frequently asked questions.

We’ve got the lowdown on bar service options and more details about certain areas – like, did you know Terrace events need to wrap up by 9 p.m.? That’s why most couples usually opt for a ceremony on the Terrace followed by a reception in the Studio Theatre.

Typically, people start reaching out to us one to two years in advance, but hey, if your dream date is still up for grabs, we’re happy to work with shorter turnaround times. In fact, our record is a whirlwind three weeks from the first phone call to the actual “I do’s.” It was a bit of a scramble, but together, we pulled off a stunning wedding.

If you’re on the lookout for the perfect wedding venue, shoot us an email at facilitybookings@medicinehat.ca or give us a ring at the Esplanade.

We’re super excited to chat with you about all the amazing possibilities for your special day.
