Stampede Roundup: Another exciting year ahead for MH Exhibition & Stampede

By Ryan McCracken on January 5, 2024.

With a new year upon us, we’re busy gearing up for another jam-packed calendar of events here at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede.

In fact, the fun has already started with Western Tractor Days, running until 3 p.m. today at the Cypress Centre with food, equipment showcase displays, fun and games for the little ones and more.

Several other conferences and trade shows are set to pave the way toward the Broncs and Honky Tonks Indoor Spring Rodeo in April, and our 2024 Night Show Lineup is set to be unveiled later this month – so stay tuned for a look into what’s coming to the stage this summer.

As mentioned, the Indoor Spring Rodeo will return to the Cypress Centre Fieldhouse April 19-21, followed by our ever-popular Indoor Garage Sale on April 27.

Farmers Markets open for the season May 18, then the WPCA Chuckwagons return for another lap around Medicine Hat’s Half Mile of Hell, June 20-23.

The Stampede is yet again the place to be on Canada Day, complete with wagon rides, face painting, food trucks and, of course, fireworks.

The All Breed Horse Shows returns to the grounds July 19-21, followed by Summer Jam on July 22 to officially kick off Stampede week in Medicine Hat.

The Summer Fair gets underway July 24 and runs through July 27, with the Stampede Parade taking to the downtown July 25.

Oktoberfest will return in 2024, seeking to build upon the groundwork laid over the past two years, then we’re back into the Holiday Season with the Christmas Market running Nov. 15-16, followed by Olde Tyme Christmas on Dec. 5 and the Beef Pen Show and Cowboy Christmas Trade Show on Dec. 20-21.

In the meantime, we are always looking for volunteers to join one of our many committees. We’re also constantly brainstorming new ideas for possible events to fill out the calendar throughout the year, so this list likely only scratches the surface of what’s to come in 2024.

If you’re interested in volunteering with the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, give us a call at 403-527-1234 to learn more.
