Locals make themselves heard at Provincial Rotary Music Festival

Eight Medicine Hat musicians were finalists at the 2019 Provincial Rotary Music Festival held in Edmonton recently. The eight pictured here were among 24 locals who participated. Medicine Hat is home to a lot of musical talent, and recently the entire province got a small sample of it.

Twenty-four local musicians competed in the 2019 Provincial Rotary Musical Festival in Edmonton from May 26 to June 1. The 24 earned their spots via recommendations from adjudicators at the Medicine Hat festival earlier this year. Eight locals were finalists in their disciplines.

Robert Lee – 2nd Place – Woodwind Solo – 16 & under

Debasri Jena – 2nd Place – Speech Solo – 16 & under

Lucas Semrau – 1st Place – Musical Theatre Solo Ballad – 16 & under

Gabrielle Campbell – 2nd Place – Musical Theatre Solo Ballad – 16 & under (representing Brooks)

Bailey Streifel – 2nd Place – Musical Theatre Solo Ballad – 12 & under
