Activities to try

Come try these activities

Darts for Fun

Tuesday afternoons beginning Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Veiner Centre Games Room. Beginners welcome.

Playing darts will increase your concentration and decision making skills while having fun. It’s a game that can be played by two people or in teams.

The Cornhole Game

If you’re looking to try a fun new activity, try the quirkily-named Cornhole Game. Named as such because the bean bags that are thrown used to be filled with dried corn kernels.

The object of the game is simple, get your bean bag into the hole. It can be played with two to four players and the rules are as easy as apple pie. Just stand next to your board and try to launch your bag into the opposing board’s hole. If you’re playing with two per team, one player from each team stand together at one board and take turns throwing three bags until they’re out.

A bag in the hole is worth three points and any bag on the board is worth one. The first team to 21 wins and throws first next game.

The bags cannot touch the ground before landing and must land directly on the board. It doesn’t matter if a bag slides in or if another team knocks their or an opponent’s bag in, it counts for three points.

If two players score points in the same manner (ie. Two three-pointers, or two one-pointers) the points cancel each other out that round.

So easy, yet so much fun! Come in and play anytime during Drop In hours at the Strathcona Center. See you soon!
