Local charity hosts annual gala Friday at Medalta

Canadian Humanitarian is hosting the annual “Beyond Belief” Gala Friday at Medalta Potteries. This year’s event will feature a gourmet meal prepared by Shooting Star Events, with entertainment provided by Indigo Circus and Third Street. Doors open at 6 p.m.

A press release says Canadian Humanitarian helps poor and disadvantaged children reach their potential. The organization operates programs primarily in Ethiopia. Over the past 10 years Canadian Humanitarian has provided: 562,900 hot meals, 2,894 annual tuition fees, 5,380 sets of clothing and shoes, and 5380 school supply packages

Canadian Humanitarian has seen 934 children graduate from university, college, or vocational training, leaving behind lives of poverty and despair for lives of opportunity, productivity, and hope.

Every year, Canadian Humanitarian invites Medicine Hat to join in the celebration of their successes and raise money for next year’s programs.
