Christmas movie event at Canalta Centre will support Santa Claus Fund

Medicine Hat News Cash and new toy donations will be accepted in support of the Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund during a Christmas movie event Dec. 16 at Canalta Centre. The late Sunday afternoon/evening event, sponsored by Kal Tire, features one of the best Christmas movies ever filmed, Elf, starring Will Ferrell as Buddy. The movie will be shown on the big screen at the arena. “We are always excited to partner with organizations that value the community as much as we do,” says Canalta Centre general manager Tammy Sweeney. “Kal-Tire is an unbelievable supporter of the Canalta Centre and we are thrilled to partner with them to create an affordable, fun night out for families at Christmas time.” There is no admission fee, however cash and new toy donations to support the Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund are encouraged. A specialty hot chocolate bar for both children and adults will be set up exclusively for this event and an array of hot food items and snacks will be served at the concessions. Santa Claus will also be making a special appearance starting at 4:30 p.m. when the doors open for photos with families. The feature presentation will start at 5:30 p.m. on the jumbotron. 6-5
