The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for the 2018 Chamber Business Awards. Held as a kick-off event prior to National Small Business Week, which runs this year Oct. 14-20, the annual awards provide an opportunity for Medicine Hat and Southeast Alberta to recognize the outstanding achievements of our business community. After a rigorous nomination process, the nominees have been finalized.

This year’s event theme, “The Elements of Business,” represents the business experiment that is at the heart of every commercial venture, says the Chamber in a news release. “Every entrepreneur takes a look at the market and tests out their idea like a scientist uses an experiment to prove a hypothesis. In the lab of the marketplace a business equation is tested, and with the formula being tweaked and adjusted carefully and thoughtfully to account for challenges and variables, the final product should equal success.

The winners of each category will be honoured at a banquet Oct. 12.
