Honouring those who fought and died in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France is one of the country’s most recognizable landmarks. Inaugurated in 1836, the Arc de Triomphe highlights French military victories and is also the site of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I. Not to be outdone by the Eiffel Tower, you can also take in incredible views of Paris from the Arc de Triomphe’s rooftop observation deck.
