In looking back at my most popular Instagram posts of 2023, I wanted to take into account both engagement and overall reach – particularly, because I already knew months ago what my most popular Instagram post of the year was going to be. Once again, personal pictures did well, the documentary content dominated my year, and yet, it seems perfectly on brand that a joke shot I took while travel shooting would take the year’s top spot (by a landslide). These 10 posts represent not only my most liked images on Instagram in 2023, but the most widely shared / most viewed.
