During National Volunteer Week I would like to personally say thank you to our volunteers for taking time out of your busy schedules to volunteer with the City of Medicine Hat.
Your willingness to give your time and service in our facilities is greatly appreciated. Your support of our community allows us to continue to fulfill our mission to serve the people in our city to the best of our abilities. We are so very proud to have you all on our team. You are the smiling and friendly faces our patrons see welcoming them when they arrive at events. You make a huge difference to the quality of service we provide; you are passionate, reliable, creative, positive, energetic team players and we could not do it without you.
We are very fortunate to have more than 300 active volunteers donating their time. At the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre, volunteers enjoy viewing new exhibitions in the galleries, watching live stage performances, assisting with fun family programs, or helping with children of all ages in our educational programs. At Co-op Place volunteers enjoy large events such as Professional Bull Riding, Monster Trucks, Cirque du Soleil, and concerts. If you’re a hockey fan and looking to volunteer, this could be the perfect venue as you would get to see the Medicine Hat Tigers play at home.
Our volunteers are individuals that take pride in our city and the exciting public programs we offer.
We also have many volunteers not in the public eye but working hard to support the community on city committees such as the Truth & Reconciliation Committee, Work Group for Accessibility and Inclusion, the Heritage Resources Work Group, and the Community Vibrancy Advisory Board.
We are always looking to include more volunteers on our team. It is a fun and rewarding way to meet people, make friends, learn new skills, feel a sense of community involvement but most of all have fun!
