Stampede Roundup: If you thought Stampede was it for summer, think again!

By Ryan McCracken on August 2, 2025.

We had an unforgettable week of fun here at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, and it’s thanks to the support of people like you – from our valued volunteers and sponsors to our staff and attendees. The weather was beautiful, the crowds were huge, the performances were fantastic and our amazing volunteers kept things running smoothly from noon Wednesday through to midnight on Saturday.

But we’re not ones to let the dust settle while the sun’s shining here at the Stampede, so we’re jumping right back into it with three big events in August!

First up, we’re honoured to be hosting the majestic spectacle that is the RCMP Musical Ride next Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 6-7. This celebration of Canadian heritage features a troop of up to 32 mounted police officers performing intricate routines and drills on horseback to music.

Tickets to this one-of-a-kind event are just $13 with a food donation. Non-perishable food items can be donated at the door and will be given to the local food bank.

Just two days later on Aug. 9, we’ll be hopping off the horses and climbing into hot rods for the return of Cars & Guitars – featuring the ultimate tribute concert to ABBA and Fleetwood Mac, Arrival and Dreams.

Concert tickets are just $25, so pass it down The Chain to Fernando, Rhiannon and your Mamma Mia too, because Knowing Me, Knowing You, missing out on this show might leave a Hole in Your Soul (OK fine, I’ll stop).

The car show, hosted by Cypress Rod and Custom Club, runs 10-4 on the Stampede grounds, with entertainment in the beer gardens, hundreds of vintage vehicles and a pin-up contest.

But we aren’t stopping there! On Aug. 23 and 24, the Stampede will be welcoming Indian Relay Racing back to the track for a second straight year! These races feature teams of skilled riders racing around our track, and transferring between horses each lap.

The Indigenous Artisan Market will also return with the races, as well as traditional drumming and dancing, and a new tepee display outside the grandstand. Tickets to the races are just $25 and are going fast, so grab yours today to experience this unmatched thrill ride.

Tickets to all these events can be purchased online at tickets.mhstampede.com, at the Stampede Office or by calling 403-527-1234, and more info can be found at mhstampede.com.
