The snow has fallen, December is right around the bend and Santa Claus is coming to town! That’s right, the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede is bringing Jolly Ol’ St. Nick back to Co-op Pioneer Village this Thursday from 5-8 p.m. for the Connect First Credit Union Olde Tyme Christmas Fair and Market! Santa will be greeting children and taking free photos with families all evening long, while volunteers from the Stampede and Connect First will be handing out free hot chocolate, hot dogs and s’mores for everyone in attendance. Cozy up by the campfire or take that cocoa to go and climb aboard one of our wagons for a free ride around the area. And don’t forget to explore all the historical activities Co-op Pioneer Village has to offer, from witnessing demonstrations at the Blacksmith Shop to experiencing a slice of the past at Austin’s General Store. If you need to warm up, the Christmas Farmers’ Market will be packed with vendors from 4-9 p.m. in the nearby Cypress Centre, so pop in and pick up something special for that special someone in your life. Once the snow settles on Olde Tyme Christmas, we’ll be shifting our focus to the 26th annual Beef Pen Show and Cowboy Christmas Trade Show, Dec. 20-21 in the Cypress Centre. This year promises to be another big one, with vendors, cattlemen, 4H members and all the beautifully fluffy livestock set to pack every corner of the Fieldhouse, Pavilion and Auditorium for this two-day agricultural extravaganza. The 26th annual Beef Pen Show & Cowboy Christmas Trade Show open at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 and 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21.
