Saddles and Spurs 4-H Lighthorse Club has had a busy fall since its organizational meeting Sept. 16. The club has 19 members, including seven new ones.

Members attended the District 4-H Colour Night banquet at Seven Persons Hall Nov.17. It was great night with good food, lots of dancing, and awards as well. The following members were recognized for various achievements: Autumn Klaiber — Junior Lighthorse Record Book and Regional Lighthorse Record Book; Darcy Newby — Intermediate Lighthorse Record Book; Alexis Judge — Senior Record Book; Lauren Chalifoux — Bronze Award and Regional Junior Presentations; Alexis Judge — Gold Award; Stefan Judge — Gold Award; Michaela Newby — Platinum Award.

Members have been learning proper riding techniques, horse health and tack information at Forsyth’s Arena. They are also working on communication skills, and how to run a meeting.

Club members learned Dec. 8 how to do “team sorting” and had a lot of fun doing it. Morley Forsyth, Ivan Duchscherer, and Linden Flaig were instructors for this fun sport.

A Christmas party for the club was held Dec. 1. It involved a pot-luck supper, gift exchange, and lots of other fun activities.

We are looking forward to our upcoming activities in the New Year..
