Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 21, 2024

Ticked Off

That the city continues to instal and remove that ugly snow fence every year. Why not plant some type of bushes that would look nice and do the same job and not cost taxpayers every year?

Ticked Off

City council meetings would be a lot shorter if the councillors would have a time limit for their remarks. Way too much useless babbling, get to the point and then listen.

Ticked Off

At all the whining about traffic-calming measures. It was preventable by drivers simply abiding by the speed limit. A lot more of these measures are going to be erected if you continue to speed. Remember that, fellow condo residents.

Ticked Off

What in the world has happened to the once beautiful Harlow area? There’s the berm, but what’s the reason for the city to be cutting down the rest of the trees? And the city claims the tree canopy is important.

Ticked Off

I really hope all the people with endless complaints about the UCP remember that next election, as it seems no matter how bad they get they get elected. If you are going to keep electing them don’t keep complaining, as you know what they are going to do. They work for the oil companies, the coal companies, the insurance companies, etc., and not the people they are elected to represent.

Ticked Off

Was very disappointed at the Tigers/Royals game. The fans were not given the chance to properly say goodbye and thank Brayden Boehm for the four seasons he spent here. And, to congratulate Markus and Liam Ruck for winning a gold medal at the U17 tournament. When the Tigers played the Hurricanes, their organization gave Harrison Meneghin a very heartfelt good bye, which he deserved. Didn’t know Lethbridge had more class than the Tigers.

Ticked Off

Apparently the UCP are going to remove insurance caps, as well as remove the right to sue the companies. Looks like they win both ways and, once again, the taxpayer gets the shaft.

Tickled Pink

Thank you to the Medicine Hat Real Estate Board for the gift bags they delivered with Meals on Wheels, and thank you to Meals on Wheels for a wonderful service, and especially those who volunteer their time to make it possible.

Tickled Pink

Cracking up at the “cyclist” who thinks riding on a multi-use pathway is “ridiculous.” You are doing nothing but embarrassing yourself by writing this. Any actual cyclist has no problem riding on a pathway, like seriously, give me a break. If you’re having this much trouble, maybe cycling isn’t for you.

Tickled Pink

I will be if the city moves ahead with a recreation facility and gets shovels in the ground before the next election. Because if the previous mayor should somehow get elected again, he will undoubtedly stop the project as it seems pretty clear he was against any money being spent south of the river and even more so south of the highway.

Ticked Off

That my last submission was edited for some reason. I guess you can’t criticize previous conservative governments. Oh well, I didn’t believe others when they complained it happened to them, so I guess no more complaints. (Editor’s note: There are a number of reasons why we edit, none of which are because we care which government you didn’t like. But, let me save you some future grief: Get. A. Facebook. Account.)

Ticked Off

Just watched a few minutes of Question Period on the news. What an embarrassing display of chaos from our educated, elected officials. The speaker has no control at all, so 20 people can babble all at the same time. These people should be replaced.

Tickled Pink

Would be if the news letter from our local MP would be softer paper. Could put it to better use.

Ticked Off

How can it cost $20K to move eight sea-cans? Sell them as is, where is. Keep it honest. Use some common sense.

Ticked Off

Our provincial government bureaucrats can’t run AIMCo., how are they ever going to run a provincial pension fund? The thought of this is very concerning.

Tickled Pink

No matter how wide a road is for cyclists, even with bike lanes, if there is a sidewalk they will use the sidewalk. Example, College Drive.

Tickled Pink

I recently entered one of the traffic circles and went around for several minutes trying to figure how to get out. Luckily another car came through and guided me out of circle mayhem.

Tickled Pink

I will be tickled silly if the merchants in the downtown core put some Christmas lights up to celebrate the season. The last couple of years have been pretty bleak. You can get a full string of multi coloured LED lights for $13. Thanks.

Tickled Pink

If the word “prompt” would not be used so easily. I refer to my insurance company. Absolutely no fault of my own, waiting on “prompt” response, six weeks later…

Ticked Off

If anyone would even consider paying $3.97 for one measly cantaloupe. I will never eat a cantaloupe for the rest of my life before I pay any grocery store that excessive price, or for anything else that is priced sky high. Then, when it doesn’t sell the following week, they put it on sale and it’s so over ripe it’s disgusting.

Ticked Off

Premier Danielle Smith, who represents Medicine Hat, thinks it’s OK to have only one lab for this area. Disgusting watching seniors and sick people wait hours for blood work, or wait a month for an appointment. Guaranteed Smith does not get her blood work done in Medicine Hat, wait, she doesn’t even live here.

Tickled Pink

If you want a paper copy of a bank statement my bank charges for it, not sure why city doesn’t go that way as well. All my bill statements are electronic now. Not sure why the city doesn’t go that way. It’s more cost effective.

Ticked Off

We’re getting the provincial government to do an audit of the City of Medicine Hat. Seriously? Have we lost what scraps remained of our collective sanity? This government is so corrupt, inept and incapable of good governance, and we want them to audit us? Unbelievable.
