Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 7, 2024

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on November 7, 2024.

The News would like to apologize for a post in the Nov. 5 TO/TP section about a local football coach. The inadvertent oversight with the comment was unintentional and we regret the inconvenience and embarrassment has caused.

Ticked Off

Seems to me Danielle Smith has a deranged vendetta against the federal government not the otherwise around. What is our leader? talking about? The federal government is not fighting against us.

Tickled Pink

I just read, The keys to the Tree, written by the city manager, this is a wonderful book. I highly recommend it to all citizens of Medicine Hat as stocking stuffers.

Tickled Pink

So the Medicine Hat Stampede crew want to use our tax dollars to build a new grand stand, interest free. Are they going to look at other revenue streams to pay back the loan quicker, like charging for parking or have a beer gardens/dance after the chuckwagon races?

Tickled Pink

With the resurfacing of the Ross Creek bridge on Highway 41A. That is ssmmooootttthhhh! And grateful they did such an excellent job without narrowing it.

Ticked Off

That there is no room for road cyclists on Division Avenue. Commuters and experienced cyclists go way too fast to ride on a sidewalk with strollers and dogs. Plus, wear cleats on shoes to connect to pedals and aren’t meant for stopping, dismounting and walking across each cross street. Ridiculous. Complete lack of understanding of cycling.

Ticked Off

At the person complaining that “trails are destroying our beautiful city.” I disagree completely. The trail system in this city is part of what makes it beautiful. You think wide roads with high-speed limits make our city beautiful? You’re out of your mind. I’ll take a winding path through a quiet neighbourhood over an unnecessary four-lane drag strip every day of the week.

Tickled Pink

Obviously, traffic calming was implemented in a sleepy neighbourhood like the SE Hill for that exact reason. Let’s keep our neighbourhoods sleepy, quaint and walkable, thank you very much. As someone who actually lives on the Hill, I love the new Division Avenue, and I will be using the trail often. Thank you, City of Medicine Hat.

Ticked Off

At the person who thinks it’s too loud at the Tigers games. And the host of the games doesn’t control the volume. I have some ear plugs you can have.

Ticked Off

So Danielle Smith is “pissed.” Is this the way our leaders speak now? Perhaps she should have her potty mouth cleaned out with soap.

Ticked Off

Teach grader operators how to grade gravel lanes. The idea is to cut the road deeper than the potholes, then re-spreading windrow level so the holes take longer than 10 days to reappear. Terrible job on Southeast Hill, and yes, I am a former construction grader operator.

Ticked Off

Really ticked off that the self proclaimed “most generous company in the world” keeps raising my phone and internet rates every year. So glad they can pat themselves on the back with one hand while picking my pocket with the other.

Tickled Pink

The complaint about trailers in the Walmart parking lot being an eyesore gave me a hearty chuckle. Oh no, the big bad camper vans are ruining the aesthetic appeal of the – *checks notes* – commercial hellscape? God forbid if we can’t bask in the neon glory of an unimpeded “Home and Pharmacy” sign.

Ticked Off

And more talk of the airport runway, which, what percentage of citizens use? More importantly, the safety of our streets, bad intersections and the welfare of using such. Yeesh.

Ticked Off

That the local default gas price more than doubled for November. Every month residents have to choose one necessity over another, and now heating our homes is added to the mix. (Editor’s note: Paying more for things is zero fun, and we agree, but just for context, gas is going up from record lows, so it’s not overly unexpected as cooler months arrive.)

Tickled Pink

I am so happy and over the moon Mr. Trump won the U.S. presidential election. Next, Mr. Pierre Poilievre in Canada.

Ticked Off

It’s surprising how many vehicles in Medicine Hat have defective signal lights and head lights. I guess inflation has gotten so bad that drivers can’t afford to purchase replacement bulbs. Oh wait, I think I’m mistaken, it might be that drivers are too lazy to use them or smart enough to turn them on.

Ticked Off

Not only is the loud music at Tigers games annoying, so is the smell of smoke as it drifts into the bar area. The smoking area at The Arena was a much better location as the stink didn’t drift in.

Ticked Off

That after the U.S. Presidential election it’s obvious things have evolved so good morals, ethics, values, truth, lawfulness and integrity don’t matter anymore.

Tickled Pink

It’s a beautiful day. The globalists couldn’t instal their inept candidate, even with non-stop support from the lying left-wing media and every seedy celebrity in the country. Now, if we can only do the same in Canada.

Tickled Pink

So pleased Trump won the election, not because he is a great man and he is certainly flawed, but that he managed to beat someone who was placed, not voted, in her position with no policies, only that she wasn’t Trump. Gives me hope.

Tickled Pink

I’m pleased with the results of the 2024 U.S. election. It’s certainly not because I am in any way enamoured by the president-elect. Moreover, it’s my belief in meritocracy, along with my trust in, and hope for, policies that reflect a centre-right perspective.

Tickled Pink

As expected, U.S. democrats are playing the race and gender cards as an excuse for their loss. Maybe next time you should have a primary and get the best candidate instead of forcing an extremely unimpressive candidate on everyone. (Editor’s note: Fair enough, but at least they’re admitting they lost. After the last four years, I think we could all handle hearing some excuses for losing instead of constantly pretending they didn’t.)

Tickled Pink

With Kamala Harris fired, we can now start to feel unburdened by what has been.
