Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 14, 2024

Ticked Off

There are a lot of ‘UN’ words to describe the Alberta government – unpopular, unfair, etc. But just ‘un’ should be what the U in UPC stands for. They continue to introduce unessential legislation and spend money unnecessarily, and that makes them unconservative.

Tickled Pink

We the citizens are seeing just a fraction of the nonsense at city hall. Imagine what it is like to have to work with that lot. If there’s no problem with P-cards, etc., why the big fuss by the CAO and those following her? If there is nothing wrong then let’s see it.

Ticked Off

When businesses are sold out of something put up a sign so customers don’t look forever with no avail. Nothing ticks me off more than the irresponsible employee.

Ticked Off

At local food delivery folk who don’t know how to park, especially the one who double-parked on the street leaving both doors on the driver’s side open.

Tickled Pink

I love this city. Nice people, even the drivers. Polite and considerate.

Ticked Off

That our residential streets look like a combo light industrial/RV park. Home businesses shouldn’t be allowed to park all their equipment, including long utility trailers, on streets. Not enough parking available as is.

Tickled Pink

To see Third Street NW repaved would be great. And with bicycle lanes would be fantastic for everyone.

Ticked Off

At the same person complaining about trailers on driveways. Seriously, you need to get a life. If skid marks are your only complaint, be thankful.

Tickled Pink

With the editor’s comments. Your notes are very entertaining, especially when people have no sense of humour.

Ticked Off

To the dad of the editor, why did you raise such a close minded person? (Editor’s note: Between you and me, I think he did it to annoy you.)

Ticked Off

To the people who support Mayor Linnsie Clark, wake up and smell the coffee. Seven councillors voted for these sanctions, two are close friends and allies, one is a former Crown prosecutor, one a school principal and one a former police chief. If these professional people all voted for sanctions, don’t you think there is some validity to the claims?

Tickled Pink

With the record amount of rain in one day. Now if only the rain would come in better increments so that drought is not so prevalent here. Here comes the sun.

Tickled Pink

That Mayor Clark is standing up for what is right and not following the old ways of how councils in the past have done their own thing. Something present council should take away with them.

Tickled Pink

With the comment by a local driver and what she stated about being honked at for trying to avoid pot holes during the rainstorm. Good on her, I agree.

Ticked Off

At the immature drivers tearing up the street on the Hill. And ticked off at the cops for not doing anything.

Ticked Off

I’m surprised a large Western Canadian charity is begging for donations. They definitely have an in with the present government. If they are feeding 250 people a day in our small community maybe the minister should be paying attention to the reasons why that many citizens are hungry.

Ticked Off

Over the last year it appears our parks and city green spaces have really gone down hill with lack of maintenance and care. This is the worst I have ever seen them. What is going on with the city?

Ticked Off

OK, my front window gets broken by some unfortunate incident. I cover it with plywood until the replacement window is available. But that’s not good enough for the city. Now I have to consult the city and paint the plywood an acceptable colour. Are these colours and recommendations on the website? Can it be more than one colour? Really? (Editor’s note: Are you mad because you imagined having to paint a board?)

Ticked Off

What a amazing justice system we have when a local drug dealer, with over 30 years of drug trafficking, violence, weapons and breaking release conditions is charged then once again released on conditions. But I guess society needs someone to supply the poison.

Ticked Off

With the city not mowing dandelion fields along Dunmore Road before they go to seed.

Ticked Off

There ought to be a provincial law against lying in politics – oh wait, that would probably annoy the current premier.

Tickled Pink

That people are starting to realize how corrupt Medicine Hat is. It’s not just city council; business owners, landlords, lawyers, doctors, etc. are unimpeachable here.

Ticked Off

The Mustard Seed is overwhelmed feeding 250 people a day. Maybe the local food bank, with its four kitchens and donated food could help out. Oh yeah, they are busy planning the Amazing Race, what fun.

Ticked Off

There’s only 10 camping spots at Echo Dale? Another wasted opportunity by the city to encourage tourism. There should be hundreds of spots, they’d be full.

Ticked Off

With people who leave their dogs outside barking for hours. They might have a good reason to bark but that doesn’t help the neighbour’s nerves. This is a time of open windows. We do not need the racket. Take them inside.

Ticked Off

If the city/businesses installed bike racks around town. Pubs, restaurants, grocery stores – you’re missing out on all the bike riders (and there is a lot of us) visiting your establishment.

Ticked Off

I don’t understand why half-mile fire barriers have not been put in place around the cities and towns in these forested areas.

Ticked Off

Just see the Liberals spending so much that my kids and grandkids will never own their own home. Way to go, Liberals.

Tickled Pink

It would be so nice if people out for a walk would pick up some garbage instead of looking at it. It’s not that hard.

Tickled Pink

Would be if council opened the books, after all it is public funds, and we have every right to know. What is there to hide?
