Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 2, 2024

Tickled Pink

We have the most ignorant premier in the country and it is going to cost her the next election.

Tickled Pink

Congratulations to the Ultimate Cheer Fusion teams who recently competed at nationals. You did Medicine Hat proud!

Tickled Pink

To know, if Liberals are so against oil and gas, how is there record highest produced in Canada last eight years?

Ticked Off

Conservatives do not have a vision of a better Canada. Liberals seem to be thinking of making things better.

Ticked Off

It is really priceless to hear Coun. McGrogan say what the UCP is doing with respect to municipal councils is overreach given what they did to Mayor Clark. I don’t agree with either.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith decides it is more important to spend money on a passenger rail system right now than health care. Guess patients can ride the train instead of waiting long hours in the ER. Another UCP decision disregards what the voters want.

Ticked Off

To the inconsiderate people in my building for the reminder that it’s the start of another season of ruining my enjoyment of my balcony by smoking on theirs.

Ticked Off

Really just an observation, as if the past councillors would have followed proper protocol, then perhaps there would not be all the kerfuffle with the present councillors.

Ticked Off

That the editor of this column is back to adding his own comments to the good citizens of this city. You edit, not comment. (Editor’s note: Life just isn’t fair.)

Tickled Pink

I sure would be if it rains and rains, and rains, and rains. And then some.

Ticked Off

Our premier does not want the prime minister or federal government controlling the province but she thinks she has the right to control our municipal government. She will force through new laws/mandates that suit her agenda. It’s all about her control, not what’s best for the people.

Ticked Pink

Haven’t watered anything in my yard yet. All the moisture we’ve been getting during this “drought” is more than enough to keep everything green. Also healthier for the grass to be deep rooted.

Ticked Off

I was born in 1940 and have seen a lot. I have always considered myself as a right wing liberal or a left wing conservative. I am now scared of what I see as an extreme right wing that seems to be taking over our country. Both our provincial and federal conservatories seem to be very extreme tending to Trumpism.

Ticked Off

That a person actually thinks we should put taxpayers’ money towards reflective tags for deers so they won’t be hit. Have fun with that idea because no money will ever go into that pot.

Tickled Pink

That lower income seniors can go out for morning coffee instead of going to the Veiner Centre. You still can socialize at the mere cost of a coffee.

Ticked Off

Once again, government is hitting the wrong smokers. Why are they not shutting down the people who are making illegal cigarettes in this country and selling them for way less the price? There’s way more of them being sold, by local people driving around the city delivering them to the smokers. Ban all cigarettes, or is the government making too much money from the legal sales? Ban all.

Ticked Off

Seems to me the UCP is introducing into Alberta politics at all levels PAC’s very similar to those that dominate U.S. political campaigns. The more money being thrown into the ring gets the prize. Are Albertans mature enough for this and willing to sacrifice the people’s choice over monied ones?

Tickled Pink

With the Veiner Centre. I am low income and was quite solitary until I joined. Since then my days have been full interacting many other seniors. I have many wonderful people from all walks of life.

Ticked Off

At the “Medicine Hat Ratepayers Association.” It’s embarrassing to see a group of people who take joy in trying to pull this city down, and who proudly associate themselves with that treasonous Lich person. I guess at least they’re not hiding who they really are.

Tickled Pink

If councillors and city manager cared about our community and not fighting they would step down and let adults run the show.

Tickled Pink

With Linda Tooth’s column on body shaming, a topic that’s largely avoided. I would also like to add that when a slender person complains to a plus-size person that they’ve gained several pounds – that’s body shaming.

Tickled Pink

With how the Veiner Centre is not only accessible but all inclusive regardless of income. They have membership subsidy programs for low-income seniors and offer many free services and activities once a person becomes a member.

Tickled Pink

That under exceptional dire circumstance and as a last resort, Bill 20 allows the province to remove city councillors.

Tickled Pink

By the comments of the owner of McBride’s Bakery as well as their petition and support for the mayor.

Ticked Off

It’s beginning to look a lot more like the sanctions on the mayor are a result of her holding people to account for their actions, and a lot of people don’t like that, so we are sanctioning her for doing her job. Novel idea. Yikes.

Tickled Pink

Shortly after Margaret Trudeau separated from Pierre Trudeau, she wrote a book. Shortly after Sophie Gregoire Trudeau separated from Justin Trudeau, she wrote a book. Interesting.
