Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, April 16, 2024

Tickled Pink

It’s always good to know a person is never too old to learn something new. Thanks to the editor of the TOTP I learned it is not only illegal but super illegal to slam on your brakes, so the next time a deer or dog or cat runs out in front of you or a car jumps a stop sign just slam right into them as it is super illegal to slam on your brakes. (Editor’s note: You’re welcome to call the MHPS yourself, but yeah, slamming your breaks to avoid a dog is kinda not the same as slamming your breaks to purposely make the person behind you crash into you. There, now you’ve learned two things.)

Tickled Pink

Finally we are getting a Taco Bell. No more day trips to Lethbridge with the boys to get our fix!

Tickled Pink

That the city is honouring the Vimy Ridge battle, April 9, 2017, by lowering the flags to half-mast this week. Well done.

Tickled Pink

That the local news show warned us the former mayor was coming on. It gave us a chance to skip past the interview so as to not ruin our supper.

Ticked Off

I watched the Aug 21 council meeting. A member of council did raise her voice and accuse a fellow member of ill intent, but it wasn’t the mayor who did that. Also, city manager admitted overstepping but said a long standing member of council told her it was OK, that was how we do things here. Old boys back-room politics at its best.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith claims she wants to stop the federal government from distributing money to municipalities based on ideology. She is the one who wants to distribute based on ideology.

Tickled Pink

The climate emergency is only a pretext to reduce and eliminate your rights and control your productivity. It is nothing but a lie. If you believe in climate emergency, you must also value hunger, slavery and believe everything you see on mass media. I pity you.

Tickled Pink

CEO, managers or mayors, don’t openly divulge flaws of their employees, policy issues or publicly share business strategies. Thank Council who recognized the Mayor cannot govern our City with her sole one platform promise of transparency.

Ticked Off

With those of who don’t pay attention to facts. Someone complained that having Canadian government run pension plan was not acceptable and Alberta government should run their own. CPP is not run by government. It is an entity in itself. That is why it is so great. You can move anywhere in Canada and still have CPP without a change. Governments, provincial or otherwise, have nothing to do with it.

Tickled Pink

I would be if the old popcorn machine was brought back. It popped large fluffy white popcorn that tasted great. What is offered at the Monarch now is not fluffy, is yellow and is dreadful.

Tickled Pink

Our former mayor nailed a lot of things down during his interview last week. He had some very good points and I hope people are open enough to consider them.

Ticked Off

Talking about conservative whiners, the premier(e) whiner is Danielle Smith. CPP, wha. RCMP, wha. Every federal government program, wha. She doesn’t want to build on anything that now exists. Her idea of leadership is to rip everything apart and start over. Please take a timeout and quit stressing everybody out.

Tickled Pink

Spring is here. Ticked off that the roaring bikes are out in force, disturbing all and everyone. Enforcement? A joke.

Tickled Pink

“City of Murals” may someday replace “The Gas City.” Thanks, Jim!

Ticked Off

Headline: Tigers’ Fans let down. Coach Desjardins just confirmed they were short-handed four players due to injury for most of the first playoff round (all forwards). He consciously failed to utilize or summon any of the four or five Black Ace Rookies sitting in the stands, choosing to not fill his roster and four lines to remain competitive with fresh bodies. (Editor’s note: By rule, only one black ace rookie can play at a time, and Liam Ruck played in Game 4. In Game 3, the only one they officially played shorthanded, Lindstrom was a game-time scratch.)

Ticked Off

It is of great concern that taxpayers are not able to see what there tax dollars are being spent on. Why is council and the city manager not willing to provide this information?

Ticked Off

At the vandalism and thievery towards the petition for our mayor signs this past Saturday night. These signs were on the main roads leading to the signing station at the MHC. I guess some immature and unintelligent people had to have a bit of fun. Whoever you are, grow up. I hope the ones you stole are now in your front yard.

Tickled Pink

With the story on the front page Thursday of last week, on the amazing 96-year-old lady. Well done, very inspiring!

Tickled Pink

That MHPSD has some exciting changes coming. I hope some much needed restructuring happens for staff, students and families.

Ticked Off

Fed up with people with big vicious dogs off leash running loose and attacking people and their pets. Also ticked with people not keeping fences repaired to keep dogs in.

Ticked Off

Just getting really ticked off at local, provincial and federal governments, who all seem deranged and see themselves as special. They forget we elected them!
