Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, March 28, 2024

Tickled Pink

There is more than what is being made public regarding the mayor’s reprimand. For all seven councillors to vote 7-0 says volumes as some of them were close to the mayor. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are only hearing about 20% of what really has happened and is happening. I think she got what she deserved.

Ticked Off

Immediate dismissal of city manager, don’t trust our council at all with your reckless decision. We the residents of Medicine Hat have voted Clark in. I’m appalled at your attack on our mayor.

Tickled Pink

That the old boys club is gone! The keyboard warriors are embarrassing themselves, we want them to hold each other accountable and then when we do, we’re mad? Unless you’ve ever been in the position of being bullied, you have no idea what it’s like. Thank you to Coun. Sharps and the rest of council for standing up to what is right

Ticked Off

Bring back Linnsie Clark! Bring back Linnsie Clark! Everyone needs to be shouting this from the highest rooftops. If this broken and dysfunctional council can throw away the best person Medicine Hatters have had on their side for years, who knows what they’re capable of, and I personally don’t want any part of any of them. Bring back Linnsie Clark!

Ticked Off

After listening to Coun. Knodel speak Monday evening I believe this city is in trouble. If she is the example of the leadership of this city council then all the citizens of the Hat best stand up and stop this fiasco. Mayor Clark needs to be reinstated to full power. Council as a whole needs to be tuned up and the city manager needs to be fired. Council and their recent actions are a disgrace to this great city. They are not doing the job they were elected to do.

Tickled Pink

If we dammed the river downstream from the city. We need the water, plus the recreation area would be a boon for the city. #KelownaofthePrairies

Tickled Pink

Council have given our students an excellent example of bullying. Political science students, business administration, too, take note. This is not the way to conduct business, run away from idiots who think they are educated.

Tickled Pink

That 100 Canadian economists signed an open letter stating carbon taxation is the least costly way to lower emissions, and that with the rebates most people are actually making money back. In fact, it’s quite easy to calculate if you take your gas expenditure, how much you get from the rebate and compare that to what gas would be if the tax were eliminated. Very likely you will see that eliminating the tax will result in a net negative for you (which is the gist of what the economists are saying).

Ticked Off

Ten printed submissions in the last TOTP, all supporting the mayor. What a coincidence. People interviewed on the street mostly said they needed more information to make a decision, but the News showed their agenda yet again by only printing pro-Clark submissions. (Editor’s note: Yeah, because people with a television camera in their face and those who write to TOTP generally have the same level of restraint. Grow up. Good grief.)

Ticked Off

This column has become such a joke with it’s censorship. C’mon, a whole posting dedicated to mayoral support in the recent controversy? We know there were submissions supporting council’s decision. (Editor’s note: Gee. Two email submissions sent three minutes apart saying the exact same thing with different wording. But yeah, tell us more about how we try to skew public opinion. I’ll say it again. Grow up.)

Tickled Pink

Didn’t vote for mayor. Don’t really support her. But don’t agree that her opponents can take away the fact she was democratically elected. Recall her, or vote her out. Those are the options in a democracy.
