Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Feb. 27, 2024

Ticked Off

No reduction in personal Alberta taxes, a campaign promise broken.

Tickled Pink

I would be if you keep trying to understand Arctic Circle cartoons.

Tickled Pink

I am happy someone read my elitist comment about medical practitioners. good kickback points. My main point is I prefer to be ruled by elected politicians, not appointed elites of any kind. Secondly, love Malcolm Sissons’ history articles. Keep writing. Lastly, CPP is a creation of government, stand-alone, yes, just like CRA, NAVCAN, airports and CBSA and other Crown corporations. I get CPP but am keeping an open mind on the Alberta pension idea, works well for Quebec.

Ticked Off

At the Alberta sheep. Immediately after breaking her promise of tax relief, Danielle Smith has promised Albertans 25 years of misery and hard times. That’s one promise she will probably keep. Time to recall this puppet premier.

Tickled Pink

I just love it that our province is run by such great talent. Former pancake flipper and hot dog cookers.

Ticked Off

At myself for not being able to understand the myopic and simple thinking of the extremist UCP supporters, aka conservatives. To be gullible and certain that trying to return to politics of the 1950s would make life better – if only I could stop thinking with logic.

Tickled Pink

If people would google where their CPP is being invested. What scares me is that our CPP has $52 billion invested with the Communist party of China, while other investors flee. It would be a sad day if we lost it all.

Tickled Pink

The police do a fine job. It is the courts, the judges and lawyers who are off in a fantasy land of “law” and “rights,” so they take years to deal with a criminal who is left to run around doing more crime. They need to be swift and creative. Since locking up isn’t a deterrent, take things away. No licence, or health card, or car, and so on.

Ticked Off

I can’t wait for when the conservatives win the next election and we all have to start scanning our faces and submitting our IDs to use the internet. According to Poilievre this is the only way to fight back against the “woke authoritarian agenda” of Trudeau. Maybe he’s forgetting what “authoritarian” means.

Ticked Off

CPP is not government controlled like so many people believe. Learn the facts before it is too late. I have relatives in the States and overseas, and they are thoroughly jealous over it. APP may look good but is it too good to be true? Why isn’t the government focusing on the things that are broken currently. We need more doctors, shorter wait lists for surgeries, smaller classrooms.

Ticked Off

Politicians should be held accountable for promises they make, just like the working class. If you don’t do what’s expected of you, you’re fired and no pension!

Ticked Off

Boo-hoo to Chris Barber suing the government because he was inconvenienced with his bank accounts being frozen. Maybe think of all those people you inconvenienced with your actions of horn honking and hurting close-by businesses.

Ticked Off

Food delivery drivers demanding a tip or you get cold food, is ridiculous. I tip after I receive good service, not before. If the service was terrible then tip accordingly. Expecting a tip prior to delivery is ludicrous. Tip at door in cash after you receive the service.

Ticked Off

Has the UCP completely lost their mind by allowing a review of the Grassy Mountain open pit coal mine proposal? Coal mining uses a tremendous amount of water and pollutes our rivers and lakes. Just last week the media reported that the Crowsnest River went dry from lack of run-off in the mountains, and this river is one that feeds into the South Saskatoon River. Why the mayor of the Crowsnest Pass is supported this review is beyond me.

Ticked Off

At the talk and concerns about not being able to house our homeless in this city. Meanwhile, an excellent facility, situated close to law enforcement, formerly used as the Arena sits vacant. Has city council even had a thought about putting this space to better use?

Tickled Pink

Had knee surgery. Have to use crutches. Went to get a couple of groceries. Was offered help numerous times from random Medicine Hat citizens and Northland Co-op staff. Who wouldn’t want to live here? Hatters are amazing!

Ticked Off

That the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen human embryos are children. So, if an embryo freezer fails, it’s like mass murder. That ruling is in addition to the overturning of Roe v. Wade and further eroding of American women’s reproductive choices. Where do Pierre Poilievre and Glen Motz stand on this?

Just an FYI

Not really ticked off, just an FYI, there is an artesian well/river under the Goodyear plant. Could explain the water in that area.

Ticked Off

What? Now Danielle Smith says no to national pharmacare because she’s pouting that she didn’t get to put in her two bits worth on its structure. Duh, with only verbal diarrhea ever spewing from her government, who would want to listen, anyway? Ridiculous.

Ticked Off

Quit sending money to the neo-nazi in Ukraine. He is a failed actor and comedian that is buying mansions while helping the military complex line the pockets of very wealthy, evil people.

Ticked Off

That there are so many Useless Content Phrases submitted and printed in this forum. Such as: “Trudeau is ruining Canada,” or “Danielle Smith is the best premier ever.” They spark the schoolyard argument – is not, is so. If you feel compelled to submit this type of comment please include your reason for thinking or feeling this way, otherwise it is pointless. I know because, “I am the smartest person in the world” – are not, am so.

Tickled Pink

Thank you to my friend Dennis for his generous gift of a crokinole board. It has brought a lot of memories and enjoyment into my life.

Ticked Off

That the UCP plans to opt Alberta out of the national pharmacare plan that would include diabetes medication and birth control. So many Albertans would benefit from this, but the only thing the UCP seems to care about is obstructing federal programs just for the sake of it.

Tickled Pink

At Trudeau for publicly calling Putin a weakling for the execution of Navalny. Love him or hate him, I’d much rather have the leader of our country stand strong against Russia than bend over for Putin.

Ticked Off

Alberta has already indicated it will opt out of pharmacare. Why? Pandering? Because it is a Liberal/NDP idea? Or is it just because it is a good idea that Danielle didn’t come up with? I am so sick of this government.
