You buy a house within walking distance of a local school and now the school district wants our children to be bused to the other side of Crescent Heights for half their elementary years.

With the Medicine Hat Public School board and their bizarre policies. I will be moving my tax funding to the other board immediately.

Grateful for the staff on the addictions and mental health unit at the hospital. Their continued dedication to an often-times thankless job is a true show of human compassion and resiliency.

According to Statistics Canada the average household is ahead by the carbon tax rebate, meaning we pay less tax than we get in the rebate. Unless you buy a huge amount of gasoline, what is the problem?

So now pharmacists are able to prescribe for minor health issues. That will lead to an added burden for an already busy system. As usual Smith and LaGrange are putting a bandaid on a gaping wound. It’s about time they worked with and talked to the provincial medical personnel, instead of trying to change what they are not capable or trained to do. Doctors, nurses and other professionals know what is needed and it is not the ineptness of politicians.

I don’t agree with tax incentives for builders related to home development. The financial incentive doesn’t benefit the home buyer but stays with the builder. The cost of the home is still the same to the buyer. In other words, the builder will just pocket the incentive.

While there are many good drivers in Medicine Hat, the aggressive and discourteous ones are a danger. They also should not drive in a hurry and cut people off if they have vanity plates?

Pleased to see the $25 Co-op Place’s pre-hockey game buffet incentive offer. If free bus transportation was an added incentive, (saving me around $50 taxi fare round trip), I suspect the resulting attendance might even fill the arena.

At Medicine Hat drivers who drive on a four-lane road and do not move over to the empty left, near-centre lane so people turning right can get on the road. No safety hazard as the four lanes are usually clear of vehicles, except for the one I am writing about. If all is clear, move over and let us turn right. Thanks.

Medicine Hat Public Library is fabulous. Always take advantage of all the reading material from magazines to ebooks to movies. Such a wonderful facility.

Sad that locally produced beer is some of the most expensive beer at Medicine Hat liquor stores, even more than good beer from Scotland. It makes it difficult to support local breweries when everything around us is getting so expensive. You have to save money when you can.

The religious right has taken over the Republican Party in the U.S. and unbelievably support Donald Trump, a liar, tax evader, rapist and all around despicable person. The religious right also support Danielle Smith.

Thank you to the TV program Marketplace for showing what a joke electric vehicles are, especially in Canadian winters. Imagine not being able to use your car heater in freezing cold, or you won’t get to your destination. Or needing a charge and the “pumps” at the charging station fail.

Excessive red tape is why this city doesn’t grow commercially and residentially. The Medicine Hat Disadvantage.

Underestimate the total carbon emissions for oil sand operations and the cost of well cleanups within our province. These are the corporations our provincial politicians protect, not the people within our borders. We are expendable, corporate donations are not.

We have talented people in Medicine Hat. I am always impressed when people like Luke Fandrich step forward and tell interesting stories about this city. If you haven’t seen his documentary about the Monarch Theatre called “Your Cinema Needs You,” you are missing out!

What’s the purpose of a town hall meeting with Danielle Smith. You attend to only hear the speaker’s message and the only questions allowed are selectively chosen from online questions. We hear only scripted answers. Can no one challenge her in person on very important issues facing Albertans. Will Tucker be escorting her?

Co-op Place is a great facility! Lots of exits to get to the highway and roads to other parts of the city, the parking is fantastic and the staff do a great job in keeping the place clean.

What has the city done with the new fitness schedule? It’s for seniors all day long and even going into evening. I just came back from vacation and looking at schedule, need to find a new gym. Not everyone wants senior programming.
