Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Jan. 30, 2024

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on January 30, 2024.

Tickled Pink

I always look forward to Bruce Penton’s piece every week but he should stay out of divisive political and health-care stances, which he comes across as petty and misinformed.

Ticked Off

How can you claim to be pro-life yet vote for politicians who are pro-choice? This does not make sense.

Ticked Off

That our Great Leader is getting into bed with Tucker Carlson, the abhorrent, sexist, racist and deranged commentator from south of the border who has thrived on promoting cruel and crazy conspiracy theories, and helped make that country a gong show. She’s showing her true colours, yet again.

Ticked Off

Ignore all of the far-left people that are being convicted worldwide for starting forest fires to push the “climate crisis” narrative. Instead find one guy on the right starting fires. That my friends is the way of corporate media in this country. (Editor’s note: At least we named a name…)

Ticked Off

The Alberta government is trying to destroy our healthcare system by not paying our doctors and ruining our childcare system by making it difficult to sign up for $10 per day. Is there a system where we can recall this government and force an election? They should be doing a more competent job.

Ticked Off

The Take Back Alberta club that Danielle Smith belongs to must have talked her into meeting with man of questionable ethics Tucker Carlson. They all of the same ilk, er ick. Disgusting.

Ticked Off

Why did they get rid of Jason Kenney? He was so sane compared to what we have now?

Tickled Pink

I won’t have to live through the nightmare of Alberta’s politics. I am too old but I hope voters will come to their senses and put credible people in power. The people we have now leave a lot to be desired.

Ticked Off

I’m not a card carrying NDPer and I never will be, but Danielle Smith being an elected lobbyist for gas and oil companies is just plain wrong. All her decisions will favour her previous employers, so when she leaves politics there will be a very rewarding retirement employment. Now, from my writing style, guess who I am.

Ticked Off

That the convoy has been seen as a terrible thing. They were standing up for the rights of people, and if you see that as a bad thing we are in trouble. Give up your right of your opinion and see how that works for you. If you weren’t there to see what really happened, then you have no right to say anything.

Ticked Off

That the newspaper gave our MP any space for his opinion regarding the Emergencies Act. His disregard of the people that put up with the truckers’ stupidity is very sad. He should have lived in that area and I am sure he would understand why the Emergencies Act was used. We don’t care about your pathetic opinion.

Tickled Pink

That our premier is awesome and has the strength, courage and stamina to make a real difference. If you don’t like her, you will be waking up soon. Awake, not woke.

Tickled Pink

To the guy walking around in shorts in -30 weather, hopefully everything emerges intact once it thaws.

Tickled Pink

That a federal judge changed his own personal opinion over the time of the trial and declared the use of the Emergencies Act unnecessary. Even the lawyer in charge of the class action lawsuit for the Ottawa citizens admits it wasn’t needed. A tyrannical move against citizens that don’t agree with a government direction.

Ticked Off

At the person who’s halfway up D. Smith’s butt. Our premier is a self-serving woman looking for a life-long pension once she is voted out, we as a province of taxpayers will be still paying her. Get with the program, people. Danielle Smith is bad for Alberta.

Ticked Off

At people who are still complaining about Co-op Place. It’s a great facility and will be here for years to come. And yes, it’s a bit in the boonies for now, but so is Costco, Princess Auto, Boston Pizza, the Keg, etc, etc. In a few years these places will be almost city centre. The downtown location was congested to say the least. Sorry, not sorry.

Tickled Pink

I would be very happy if businesses and public institutions would change their hand soaps from scented to fragrance free. It probably doesn’t occur to the managers, but many people have fragrance sensitivities. I don’t like having to choose between good sanitation and not having an adverse reaction to the perfumes.

Ticked Off

At the Medicine Hat Public School board. A quick search on Google Scholar shows the less children switch schools the more likely there are to succeed academically. The grade configuration plan is not good for kids. Question: Why do Prairie Rose, Catholic Schools and CAPE do better than our Medicine Hat Public Schools?

Tickled Pink

My husband and I are laughing out loud as we drive down the Trans-Canada Highway toward Tilley. Through the funniest coincidence I was reading aloud from the newspaper about how a truck driver had lost multiple hay bales on the highway when my husband said, “Wait, wait. Look there!” He pointed, and there were the hay bales.

Ticked Off

At the Editor’s Note regarding a bias against conservative viewpoints. If a “general lack of coherency” were truly a standard for acceptance and publication of comments to the Ticked Off column, I feel safe in pointing out that a significant number of comments being posted would not reasonably qualify under that criterion. (Editor’s note: You don’t know the half of it. PS – It was a note regarding one person’s submissions, not conservatives in general.)
