Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Jan. 2, 2024

Tickled Pink

Way to go Scott Moe with no remittance of carbon tax. I think no one should abide by anything Trudeau says as he is the most dishonest prime minister ever.

Ticked Off

Too many barking dogs. Too many muffler-less vehicles. Medicine Hat – sonic hell.

Tickled Pink

I was filled with joy to read about Connecting with Care in Our Community Campaign. A big ‘thank-you’ to What Matters to Hatters and Ken Feser for approaching the challenges of homelessness with compassion and intelligence. I will be making a donation and spreading the word. Bravo!

Ticked Off

At the News for a huge front page picture of Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe on Dec. 28. We don’t need to see his lavish furniture in his opulent legislature office. More news, less photo opps, please. (Editor’s note: We can’t tell if you didn’t notice the news story with it, or if you just don’t like pictures.)

Ticked Off

The city really needs to issue water rationing to all households for this coming year before we have nothing to ration. Please, please, please.

Tickled Pink

Thanks to Accents Kitchen in South Vista for treating the community to a free pancake breakfast on Christmas Eve!

Ticked Off

Alberta’s health care has become a political issue where if you do not agree with Danielle Smith and her pseudoscience you get fired.

Tickled Pink

Medicine Hat is a great place to live. It’s clean, pretty, not very congested, great parks and paths and not many things missing. We do not need to encourage more growth. This place is just great. Let’s not spoil it.

Ticked Off

Extremely ticked off with our Alberta government that they can’t pay for the RSV and Prevenar vaccinations. The hospital is jammed with this sickness and yet the politicians think they are smarter than science. We’ve just spent close to $900 on these vaccinations for us. Disgusting!

Tickled Pink

That our Medicine Hat Tigers are absolutely rolling! Keep it up boys. RAAWWWR!

Tickled Pink

That the curling club is moving forward. Granted that curling cannot be compared to a brined veg. But a sport that enables older people to participate. All good.

Ticked Off

Amazed at the amount of wrapping paper and gift bags discarded. In the past people carefully unwrapped gifts and used the paper again. Obviously, people are not poor.

Tickled Pink

That we are lucky enough to have Linda Tooth writing for the Medicine Hat News. I read in one of her columns that writing makes her happy, and reading her column makes me happy, too!

Ticked Off

I just received my utility bill and the commodity charge for natural gas was $27.64, and the carbon tax on that natural gas was $32.79. Imagine that the tax was more than the commodity. Now, if we were burning oil, which I believe is a much dirtier fuel than natural gas, maybe some type of carbon tax would be warranted. Oh wait, I almost forgot, the PM has exempted the people burning oil from paying the carbon tax. Seems a little backwards. People burning a clean fuel should get the exemption.

Tickled Pink

That Alberta’s credit rating has been upgraded to an A+ by S&P Global Ratings. Thrilled to have a premier who is standing up for Alberta and who embraces responsible fiscal management. Appreciate the common-sense approach to our fiscal policy rather than the approach of tax-and-spend governments.
