Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 30, 2023

Tickled Pink

That the Medicine Hat will continue to have a “paper” newspaper for years to come.

Call me “old fashioned,” but I really believe that ink-on-paper version of corresponding, keeping records, etc., is still the best after all the “hacking” that’s been going on in the digital world. I prefer to hold the newspaper, book, etc. in my hands and not have to stare into a computer or cellphone screen. I’m keeping my landline telephone, too.

A person’s voice beats “OMG!”

I like to read through the paper and then work on the puzzles. It makes my day. Kudos.

Tickled Pink

What a fabulous clothing store downtown, Katie has brought in an awesome selection of items. Concerned about price? Lots of discount items as well great quality.

Ticked Off

How many more vacant positions can the UCP create for their “retired” brethren? How many pensions can one former politician collect? Limitless?

Ticked Off

That the editor rewrote what I wrote in this column. Makes me look stupid. Glad that I am the only one who knows I wrote it. Shame on you editor. (Editor’s note: Specifics or it didn’t happen.)

Tickled Pink

So happy that I was able to explain how the CPP works and that at least one person got it. I agree, keep your hands off my CPP, Danielle Smith. Try fixing things you can control like education and health care.

Tickled Pink

That we got 123 the wave guy back, and he actually got the wave going against Brandon. And also some fans with all the bells and whistles and horns finally making some noise, it’s like the old barn almost again.

Ticked Off

That there are people out there, who call themselves Christians, that support the genocide of civilians. I wonder if people realize there have been more civilians killed in Palestine in the first month than there has been in two years of war in Ukraine.

Ticked Off

Calgary gas average is $1.26. Medicine Hat $1.38. Why the difference? Oh wait, I know. Greed.

Ticked Off

Our premier continues to spread misinformation. It is not true that people could be jailed for failing to reach emission standards or that we will lose power. No law exists. Neither is it true we are entitled to 53% of the CPP funds. Why she does this is probably to get attention but it really does seem unethical and dishonest.

Ticked Off

That the federal NDP liberal coalition are stepping on Alberta constitutional rights to protect our province. Be thankful for Danielle Smith for standing up for our rights.

Ticked Off

Is there no limit on how much damage Danielle Smith can do? Now she’s playing dangerous games with the feds. Most of us are not fans of Trudeau, however working with a legally elected government would benefit us more than this constant bickering. We could gain more with sugar than with vinegar regarding the Federal Government. Climate change is very concerning and we might not have time to sit on our hands for 25 more years. Smith needs to go by way of Redford and Kenney. She’s far worse than they were.

Tickled Pink

Danielle Smith is awesome and might get to be The Iron Lady 2. She don’t take crap from no one. The feds and the NDP don’t know what to do except try to bully her.

Ticked Off

I’ve enjoyed parking in the Esplanade parking lot when I attend there. Now I will be unable to because I don’t have a cell phone to do their parking pass. My taxes go to this building and now I can’t even park there.

Ticked Off

Donald Trump is a liar, cheater, name caller, inciter, boaster, misogynist, Putin admirer, and all in all not a very nice person or good candidate for anything. Makes you wonder about those who support him. Many voters just vote for whomever their party puts up. That sounds like what happens in Alberta.

Ticked Off

Has there been an event held at our Town Square that can justify the cost to build this facility? (Editor’s note: If it helps, the cost to the public was zero.)

Tickled Pink

That council is thinking courageously and creatively by hearing ideas around the Strong Towns program. The problems are real and there are no magic bullets; criticizing is easy, rebuilding is the real work. Let’s get on with figuring out how.

Ticked Off

Hard to stretch paycheque when inundated with rising costs. Priorities are being stripped down. Luxuries like dental, donations and Christmas just to name a few are out the window. Not whining, simply stating a fact.

Tickled Pink

I would be if Smith would spend as much energy governing Alberta as she does fighting the Feds.

Tickled Pink

To the person complaining about people leaving their Christmas lights on all night, I am on the way to work in the morning when it is still dark and enjoy them very much. There are very many people who are driving in the dark – taxi drivers, delivery drivers, night shift workers. It is not just deer that are out there.

Ticked Off

To read the editorial comments by Lorne Fitch about water in Alberta, specifically southern Alberta. I have made several attempts to say similar things but have not been published. Guess I need more credits behind my name than just concerned farmer.
