Tickled Pink Nice to hear someone complaining about the noise at a Tigers game. When I went to a game, it was boring and quiet like a library, not how a WHL game should be, or how it was years ago in The Arena. If you want peace and quiet that bad, stay at home and read a book, you party pooper. Ticked Off One of the principal reasons Canada’s health system is crumbling is it is micromanaged by politicians whose visions don’t extend beyond their noses. We don’t want our CPP to go in that direction. It is now a separate entity from government. Please keep it that way. Tickled Pink I think our mayor has done a great job facing utility issue complaints, responding to issues, finding solutions and applying those solutions quickly. The staff handling the angry phone calls concerning utilities are absolutely exceptional. Ticked Off If our premier was “really just in it for herself,” why wouldn’t she just sit back and let her term ride itself out and collect that pension you talk of? We’ve seen more action on items in her first few months than from years of other premiers. And more importantly, not swaying in the political breezes of trying to please everyone. Tickled Pink Kudos to the parks department for doing a great job on leaf pick up in Kin Coulee it looks beautiful. Thank you. Ticked Off I’ll never understand the people in this province asking for less government intervention. Then also asking for the government to give handouts for their industry when it is hurting. Also asking for government to handle AHS, COVID response, etc. It makes my brain hurt. Tickled Pink To the person who rescued two kittens from a dumpster, you are an angel. Ticked Off Re: Feral cats should be put down. I totally disagree with this person. I have tamed many feral cats who have become the most gentlest of pets. Like any living creature they want love and deserve it. Tickled Pink We received another $200 credit on our utility bill. We wouldn’t receive that from any other utility company when their rates went through the roof. Thank you mayor and council for listening and reacting positively. Good job. Ticked Off Looked at north side large fitness centre. Majority of programming is for seniors, it seems. Isn’t that what the Veiner Centre should run instead? Tickled Pink Jacob had the best golden oldies Tuesday. We dragged ourselves to class at Crestwood and danced our way out. Thanks for starting our day off right. Look out, Momma, I’m coming through. Ticked Off Nightmares do come true. Manning did recommend new science for health issues in Alberta. And Smith is being interviewed by a fired Fox conspiracy loonie. Tickled Pink Have been looking for better coffee beans, found a great local roaster (does the farmer markets). Those coffee beans make the tastiest coffee. I am definitely ordering from them from now on. If you like local roasted beans, it is well worth it. Ticked Off That Starbucks claims to want to honour veterans but disrespectfully starts their Christmas promotion before Remembrance Day. Ticked Off Alberta wasting money on ridiculous things like potential of provincial police, now APP. Shouldn’t the province look at more important broken services first? Lab collection? Wait times? Ticked Off At people who inexplicably think it makes sense to bring their dog(s) to Remembrance Day Ceremonies. It is supposed to be a solemn tribute and it is very disrespectful when it is interrupted by dogs barking. Service dogs would off course be an exception and thankfully they are so well trained, they wouldn’t bark. Ticked Off At everything Danielle Smith does, and everything Danielle Smith says. Even seeing a picture of her makes me scowl. Ticked Off I’m so glad those who complain in this miserable column don’t have the opportunity to run this city, province or country the way they want or it would all be in sorrier shape than it already is. Ticked Pink That after 70 years I finally and sadly realize I had it wrong to think organized religion of any kind can contribute to peace on Earth. I now say sectarian religion is the cancer, not the answer. Ticked Off There appears to be a special interest group in Medicine Hat that has taken a page out of Donald Trump’s book. Use unfounded rumours and twisted half truths to achieve specific goals, and if that doesn’t work, just make it up (repeat allegations until it sounds factual). Smearing honest people’s reputations is just a byproduct. Ticked Off My city taxes are going toward HALO. That is a rural service and either the county or the provincial government should be funding it, not the tax dollars of city dwellers whom it does not serve. I voted for this council and boy was that a mistake, they all need to go. Ticked Off By the letter sent to the province about corruption at city hall with apparently nothing specific. I think is very irresponsible unless you have some knowledge you haven’t shared. Tickled Pink If people would say who they are after writing in this column. (Editor’s note: Anonymity, while at times frustrating, is still important for this particular column.) 47
