Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 16, 2023

Ticked Off

That Alberta thinks it should steal a lion’s share of the CCP – to invest in what that will give recipients a better return? If they just invest in Alberta companies doesn’t that limit the best returns? It seems our government is trying to hoodwink us once again and other motives are involved. I probably won’t benefit from an APP but the government might.

Ticked Off

That our government doesn’t seem to be acting in our best interests. They messed up the blood collection system by trying to privatize it. They are trying to mess with our pension system when there isn’t a problem. Now they are reorganizing the administration of Alberta Health when the problem is really staffing. Boy, did I vote for the wrong person.

Ticked Off

My car insurance rates are the highest in Canada. The reason is private enterprise runs our mandatory system, and in our neighbouring provinces, Saskatchewan and B.C., the insurance systems are run by the province. The “horrible” NDP instituted those systems.

Ticked Off

Does your cat-loving columnist not realize that cats kill birds and other small animals, dig and foul gardens and attack small dogs? Feral cats should be put down. She is an excellent reason not to subscribe to MH News. (Editor’s note: Let’s face it, if cats are why you won’t subscribe, we probably weren’t landing you anyway.)

Ticked Off

Something I have learned over my many years, is that it’s so easy to be the opposition in government, because you can promise anything. Then when you achieve power, you realize none of your promises are realistic. That is why I never believe the other parties. Just look to when government has changed in the 2000s and see how promises were broken by all new PMs.

Tickled Pink

Loved the large crowd at Riverside Veterans Memorial Park for Remembrance Day, however, it seems ongoing the sound system is inadequate for anyone but the closest to hear.

Ticked Off

It’s funny how people constantly complain about the location of Co-Op Place, but never where Costco is. Hmmm. (Editor’s note: Point taken, but in fairness, the city didn’t build Costco.)

Ticked Off

So upset there hasn’t been any coverage on the 100-plus positions being lost because BATUS can’t give meaningful work to Canadian citizens, and essentially losing $5 million annually from our community… report some news please! (Editor’s note: You might want to check the front page of Saturday’s paper. We can report the news, but we can’t make you look at it.)

Ticked Off

At the misrepresentation that Alberta workers contribute more to CPP than other Canadians. Fact is there is a limit or cap to CPP yearly contributions. Alberta workers reach the limit sooner than other Canadians. But once the limit is reached, you don’t make any more contributions for that year. This is the same no matter where you live or work in Canada.

Ticked Off

The Liberals have not put any numbers to the portion of the CPP Alberta would be entitled to. Eight years with the Liberal government tells me if they don’t disclose, they are hiding something. (Editor’s note: You know it’s no more up to the “Liberals” than it is the UCP, yeah?)

Ticked Off

That a contributor last Tuesday stated the amount of press given to a viewpoint determines its truthfulness. Given that logic, Danielle Smith is unquestioningly right about everything she is doing. And, based on the amount of publicity he has received and is still receiving, Donald Trump should be Emperor of the world.

Ticked Off

That most people do not understand the health impact this stupid time change has on some people. I have been feeling exhausted for the last week. Let’s abolish this crazy idea of Daylight Saving Time.

Tickled Pink

Thanks to the democratic process, we can voice our opposition to this restructuring of our health-care system to our representatives Justin Wright and Danielle Smith.

Ticked Off

OMG… ex-mayor Clugston’s second recent interview on CHAT TV just shows what a bitter angry person he has become. And why is CHAT giving him any air time?

Ticked Off

Wow, according to the most recent interview with the former mayor, a complaint by one person and he would have resigned, sold his house and moved to Mexico. Really, that’s all it would have taken and that’s how much you love the city? Now he’s trying to take credit for the decision council made on electric rates. They did not go to a cost-plus method for electric as you suggested, which would have pretty much eliminated the sizeable amount of money coming back to the city. You are also the one that implemented the pricing structure that resulted in the high rates this summer, so how about owning up to that?

Tickled Pink

Danielle, keep the pedal to the floor so Ottawa knows we are not backing down.

Tickled Pink

If you’ve been paying attention the last few years, it’s not hard to become a conspiracist. Doesn’t make you a bad person. Just observant.

Ticked Off

Airtime is being wasted on a former municipal politician who continually complains about the current city council. At least they are trying to do the right thing instead of blindly rubber-stamping everything that comes before them like your council did.

Ticked Off

Watched the CHAT news Nov. 14 and our ex-mayor was on. Made me sick. CHAT News, you can do better guests. I’m glad our mayor is here, and you’re the one who should go to Mexico.

Tickled Pink

Love Ted Clugston, dropping truth bombs yet again. We will be expecting the always offended crowd to be flooding this section with their sky is falling diatribes as per usual.

Ticked Off

Maybe the former mayor should check for skeletons in his own closet before he starts pointing fingers at others on council or the mayor.

Ticked Off

Why in the world is CHAT News still allowing themselves to be used as a forum for a whiny loser to air his grievances? He should have taken his own advice when he lost the free and fair election and ran away to Mexico, and then, stayed there.

Ticked Off

At all the people who are in love with our premier. She is in it it for herself. She wants to collect a lifelong pension and will once she gets through with Alberta. She is not good for Alberta.

Ticked Off

At all the residents of Alberta who think Alberta would be better off to separate from Canada. How on Earth would that be better. I ask you to give true examples of how life would be better as a separate province.
