Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 14, 2023

Ticked Off

Pumpkins are a very good food and should not be wasted. They can be used to make pumpkin bread and soup. If you do not use your pumpkin, put the remains in the compost bucket, not the garbage.

Ticked Off

That using the walking paths, it is apparent as to people who grew up on the Prairies and those who haven’t. A hello, or smile is indicative. A deadpan, no eye contact and plain scary reaction is, well, scary.

Tickled Pink

Thankfully that someone has made their voice concerning the so-called renewable energy projects that are popping up all over our area in the southeast. I, and am sure others, do not reap any benefit from such eyesores. A given that airborne species such as the bat, crucial for controlling insects, does not.

Ticked Off

The adage, “When a clown arrives, there is a circus soon to follow,” is so sadly a truth describing what is happening in our dear province since Smith grabbed power.

Ticked Off

At how many women suffer from period poverty. We need more feminine hygiene products in the hands of women who need it.

Tickled Pink

Gotcha! In the Nov. 9, Ticked Off Tickled Pink, the editor, said “Tucker Carlson “secretly admitted to hating Trump” but it should’ve been “admitted to secretly.” Otherwise he didn’t really admit it, now did he? (Editor’s note: Congratulations on this wonderful moment.)

Tickled Pink

I think Danielle Smith is doing a very good job so far. It’s good to look at the CPP and educate the citizens of Alberta about it. Most people just get a cheque and don’t really understand much about CPP.

Ticked Off

At poor leadership that wasted $7.5M-plus. Elected officials are representatives for all Albertans. UCP proving masters of smoke and mirror ploys, lavishly indulged selfish ideology; totally paid for with our tax dollars. Odd, isn’t it, there is no money for Albertans’ health care, affordable housing or education.

Tickled Pink

After reading Diane McNaughton’s wise words in today’s MHN regarding the recent UCP changes to AHCS. Diane, you hit the nail on the head. It’s all about politics, it’ll cost a lot of money and there won’t be any changes regarding health care to the masses. Changes will be in the boardrooms and in management. We will still be short of doctors and other frontline workers. It’s our bucks going down the tubes. They have tried to screw up the RCMP, CPP, education and health care. When will the UCP actually do something positive and useful for all Albertans?

Ticked Off

Tired of all the whiners about the location of every facility they can think of. Be thankful you have them in the city. They can’t all be in your neighbourhood. Get in your vehicle, shut up and drive there. End of story.

Tickled Pink

After going through some boxes of old magazines and newspapers, and finding a stack of Medicine Hat News comic booklets from the ’80s. Fully coloured comic strips of Peanuts, Hagar The Horrible, Andy Capp, Blondie and Beetle Bailey. Felt like I was a kid again.

Ticked Off

Albertans didn’t “over-contribute” to the CPP. The contributions are based on your wage. If Albertans’ wages are higher than some other provinces then, yes, contributions will be more.

Tickled Pink

With the Medicine Hat News for always doing a great job keeping us informed. Also, thank you for keeping this column anonymous.

Ticked Off

To the person who threw two kittens in the dumpster to die, I hope their little faces haunt you when you go to sleep at night. I have them and they are now in loving homes.

Tickled Pink

That Alberta is looking into an APP plan. If the Liberals and NDP say it’s bad, it’s probably very good for Alberta.

Ticked Off

I can’t believe people are willing to put their future in jeopardy just for some perceived grudge toward Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He will be gone in a couple of years, or even months, and you are willing to give up your Canada Pension to spite him. He won’t care, and you will be screwed forever. And once it’s gone, you can’t change your mind once the Conservatives are back in power.

Ticked Off

Just because you can drive around with your fog lights on doesn’t mean you should. And no, they are not driving lights, check the symbol in your owner’s manual, this goes especially for the Dodge owners out there who don’t even know how to run the switch.

Ticked Off

That we paid full price for Tom Cochrane tickets and then on the day of the concert free tickets were being offered to Esplanade members.

Ticked Off

City can’t admit they don’t want to fund the Stampede ground upgrades as it would compete with Co-op Place and Esplanade for shows and events.

Ticked Off

At the lazy people who can’t clean up their leaves after the leaves have fallen. It’s been weeks since they fell. Not a place for you to live in.

Ticked Off

That sirens are allowed at the Tigers games. We can’t sit in the section we like when we go because they are way too loud.

Ticked Off

Because never in the history of humankind has more information been written, recorded and widely disseminated on one person than Jesus, yet people still have a hard time believing he existed.
