Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 7, 2023

Tickled Pink

The Alberta Government’s proposed plan to opt out of the CPP must be a great idea it sure has the Liberals panicking realizing how much “Albertans” over contribute and would be entitled to if we exit.

Tickled Pink

I didn’t realize gambling could be so much fun. The commercials make it look so satisfying, and you just can’t lose! And look at all the easy money you win! And, how could it be bad for you with all the celebrity endorsements? I could use some quick and easy money with all the bills I have.

Ticked Off

People who think Quebec is better off out of the CPP. Don’t go by what our premier says, listen to the silence from that province. They will laugh twice as hard at Alberta when we pull out, with them getting the most equalization money from our oil, and now us going broke copying them.

Ticked Off

With people blaming the City of Medicine Hat for homelessness and mental health issues. Please educate yourselves on what is going on in Alberta, and even Canada. This is a major problem nation wide. Spending your time blaming city council might make you feel better but it won’t help our community or solve the problem.

Ticked Off

Those of you who insist on slamming Notley aren’t using the same measuring stick for our speak-before-she-thinks premier. Take off your rose-coloured glasses.

Tickled Pink

Medicine Hat Public Library is amazing. I love I can borrow electronic magazines, movies, ebooks. Cards are free, too! Such a great facility.

Ticked Off

I cannot believe people in Medicine Hat complaining about the Co-op Place location, Big Marble Go Centre, now the library location. There is nothing seriously that far away in Medicine Hat if you want to use it. Less than 20 minutes drive any place in the city.

Tickled Pink

Recently my wife of 51 years passed away at MH Regional Hospital. I would like to especially thank all the nurses, doctors and staff in the ICU ward. The care, kindness and attention that Lynn received from all of these dedicated people was so extraordinary and so very much appreciated. You are all Angels and God Bless.

Ticked Off

“Ticked and confused” was the tag recently attached to an accurate post about atheism in this column. What was confusing about this post? That someone doesn’t believe in your god, or that this person mentioned the true fact that there are almost 2 billion (1.8 billion to be exact) muslims on this planet. (Editor’s note: None of the above. The person who wrote that submission was also the one who wrote ‘Ticked and confused.’ We don’t know why they did so. Maybe ask them.)

Ticked Off

To the Editor. I’m atheist. Are my views also confused? While I don’t believe in any deities or have any imaginary friends that I talk to, I do believe in and have respect for the true history of all cultures on this planet. What I don’t believe in is forcing your religious beliefs on people or believing that you are above others who don’t share your faith. (Editor’s note: Sounds great. See above.)

Tickled Pink

To the fellow who doesn’t believe in Jesus. Guess what, he believes in you and each and everyone of us.

Ticked Off

In reference to the article mentioning the so-called “clown, driving a beat-up truck weighted down with flags.” Calling this individual a Hillbilly is prejudice and an insult to all rural people.

Tickled Pink

To see people are against having a provincial pension plan, but hopefully their concerns go further than this column. Please flood your MLA, premier’s office and the NDP with your concerns.

Tickled Pink

To the person complaining about our public library. While I agree, we could probably use another one in the south, but the current one is widely used and so helpful to many, many people. It’s an amazing welcoming spot with wonderful staff.

Ticked Off

Regarding the inane Rachel Notley post. It is not that the comment bothered me so much, it was the editing that bothers me. I know that many submissions do not get published, but when baseless submissions or I quote “silly” ones get printed it must means that the editor agrees with them. (Editor’s note: The editor doesn’t worry whether you think they agree or disagree with Ticked Off and Tickled Pink submissions. The editor is accused daily of being on the left, on the right, going up and coming down. The editor does not care what you write in this space unless it’s out of line or knowingly false. The editor also runs as many submissions in this space as possible. But yes, the editor ultimately has to decide what runs and what doesn’t.)

Ticked Off

I am pretty sure the person stated that democracies “only” have a history of lasting 200 years. You are the one who needs to go back to school to learn how to read basic English.

Tickled Pink

I would be if people were told the brain was an app. Maybe they’d start using it.

Ticked Off

Twice a week I’m amazed at the ignorance of some of the contributors of this column. Who on earth would be against Alberta being prosperous? Danielle Smith has Alberta’s best interests at heart. Why do we Albertans need the rest of Canada dragging us down?

Ticked Off

That the taxpayer could be paying for the factless propaganda presented on any of the topics the UCP is dealing with at the moment..
