Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Oct. 17, 2023

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on October 17, 2023.

Ticked Off

Saddened and sickened by Canadians who are not only condoning but celebrating Hamas’ actions over the past weekend. It’s a complicated situation but cowardly terrorist attacks are never the answer.

Ticked Off

And disgusted that noon news is bringing on the former mayor and former city councillor to interview. They trash our present mayor. Is this part of their campaign to put our former mayor back in city hall? Disgusting way to do it.

Ticked Off

Previous submission which ends “… compost, which the city uses and sells” we pay for the cart, utility, labour to process, and then have to buy back our yard waste. Should be free.

Ticked Off

It was rather humorous to listen to the former mayor talking about how he would have solved the price spike this summer with a cost-plus model. It seems to me he wanted to sell the electrical utility which would mean we would keep paying the high costs, we would not have received a rebate and the city would not have the option of coming up with a different price model as we would be at the mercy of the private company that bought the utility, or the operator they chose to operate it if it wasn’t sold. We also wouldn’t have had the $130-plus million profit.

Ticked Off

At the arrogance of a former city mayor dissing the current city council on local media. He says he could fix things in a meeting; he still doesn’t get that residents would rather have transparency and consultation rather than back-room deals and sleight of hand.

Tickled Pink

Beautiful fields of harvested crops around windmills near the Crowsnest Pass. Healthy livestock grazing around solar cells in southern Alberta. No loss of agricultural productive that I see, and little fear of being left in the dark when energy is collected in an environmentally friendly fashion.

Ticked Off

Watched the former mayor’s television interviews. Reminded me why I didn’t vote for him.

Ticked Off

I don’t know who Premier Danielle Smith is listening to but she needs to make sure she has factual information before making decisions and speaking with her outer voice.

Tickled Pink

Was happy to hear what the former mayor had to say on our local news about the city mayor and council, he hit the nail on the head, nothing is getting done. Let’s get him back in the mayor’s chair and get this city back to life and affordable to live again.

Ticked Off

That just anyone can make a petition. Ms. Frey, you are clueless. Alberta’s food and utilities are high, not just ours. Take your toxicity to a different city.

Tickled Pink

By our mayor. Thank you for being ethical and staying true to your word. I am sorry that incompetent negative voices have a platform to speak on.

Ticked Off

Nicole Frey – with a B.C. area code – constantly complaining about everything in Medicine Hat and trying to recall our mayor. Classic BCer, ‘Alberta is the worst’, while being the economic engine of Canada. Ms. Frey, if you are so disgusted with Medicine Hat, go back to B.C. If they’ll accept you.

Ticked Off

At Nicole Frey that she is trying to recall our mayor for utility rates, when it was only Mayor Clark and Coun. Van Dyke who voted in favour of a utility rate review in February. Clearly Nicole Frey is not actually watching the council meetings. Why would we want to get rid of someone who was pushing for what we wanted? Can we recall Nicole Frey from social media?!

Ticked Off

A recall of the mayor is a waste of time, money and breath. If Frey thinks she has the answers to run the city any better then put your name on the ballet next election.

Tickled Pink

That the News is moving to a smaller building rather than closing as many small-centre newspapers have done. It is a battle these days for newspapers with competition from social media in addition to the conventional competition from radio and TV. As a long-time subscriber, I feel it is akin to a community duty to read the Medicine Hat News.

Ticked Off

At Nicole Frey and her stupid petition. Some Karen didn’t get her way.

Ticked Off

Sickening to see the witch hunt to oust the mayor, and it’s elected officials who have a messed up agenda to thank. The toxic personality of a certain someone on board should be investigated. Stay in your lane and let the mayor do her job.

Ticked Off

If you feel rejected and empty, counselling can help. Attention seeking on social media and TV, trying to convince yourself and others that you are the unelected saviour they need, will not.

Ticked Off

That when walking the pathways dog owners let their dogs come up to me as if I want to pet them. Well I am not interested so shorten that leash and keep him beside you.

Ticked Off

Delaying a mega solar project for one bird’s nest? Silly. Move the nest and get to work. The birds will be fine.

Ticked Off

If you don’t like having a city-run power plant then move. What is at stake bringing in other choices? Loss of profit for the city, no control over the cost of power, 52 families affected by potential closure of the plant, higher taxes, higher cost of electricity. Have you even seen the cost of power elsewhere? I can’t afford losing our city power.
