Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, June 29

Ticked Off

With all the profits from the power plant we should build a new area downtown with bar and restaurants around it, rather than having the Co-op Place in Redcliff.

Tickled Pink

Actions really show how much you care and love your family so stop acting like a fool and get your head out of your butt. Blaming everyone else for your lack of achievement, when you repeatedly put work first you keep getting the same result. Start by doing your best for yourself and family.

Maybe they’ll leave the Titanic alone now. After all it was a disaster, is a grave site and isn’t a romantic novel!

Tickled Pink

With those vehicles that drive the proper speed down back alleyways. When you rip through at high speeds the dust is overwhelming when I often sit out on my patio. Thank you for your consideration.

I’m disappointed as a resident that city council has to even think about what to do with the windfall of $184 million. Our utilities that each and every resident pays begrudgingly should be your first choice!

Tickled Pink

I would be tickled pink if the city went back to planting trees on the boulevards so eventually the streets would be shaded and have a welcoming character like they do on the Southeast Hill and the Flats. It would make the city much more walkable.

Ticked Off

People who blow red lights! Remember there’s another human in the vehicles that you hit! Was it worth it?

Tickled Pink

I am happy the city has signed on with Strong Towns. I am currently reading the related book “Strong Towns,” which I borrowed from our library. With regard to our current proposed surplus, here’s a quote from the book. “Cities that take on debt are bringing future spending into the present while obligating future residents to pay for that spending.” Based on this, I recommend the city use the current anticipated surplus to pay down as much existing debt as possible. Let’s take the debt repayment burden off our future selves.

Pretty sad when Titan implosion makes more headlines than Alberta’s sinking health care!

So proud of our son, he’s 41 had a steady low-paying position for years. Now he’s realizing that he’s never going to get ahead unless he changes and he’s gone and started the process. Yep, it’s scary but it’s possible. No more excuses.

Tickled Pink

Grateful for the wonderful educated doctors we have in Medicine Hat. We appreciate all you do and hope you do not leave our city.

Tickled Pink

We fell to the Microsoft scammer for a few hundred dollars. Tickled pink when the Royal Bank covered our loss. We have been loyal customers for decades, so we are very pleased they helped us.

Ticked Off

At grocery stores that finally put watermelon on sale only to find them over-ripe and ugly. Can’t sell at the higher prices so when they get too ripe, then you put them on sale.

Tickled Pink

That we live on the north side of the river with the small-town atmosphere, but all the amenities that we need and the cheapest gas in town. If we really need something from the other side it is a quick trip down the highway to the congested chaos.
