Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, June 27

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on June 27, 2023.

Tickled Pink

That some people don’t understand the difference between a feral cat and a deer or antelope. Can’t stop laughing!

Ticked Off

Tragic collision with lives lost. Implementing traffic lights at these dangerous intersections would be a start.

Tickled Pink

Fully support HALO. They know what they’re doing and do it efficiently. Drop all social services funding. They don’t work. Trying to get help to aging neighbour has been frustrating and unsuccessful.

Ticked Off

To those of you who blow red lights, are you really in that big a hurry? My totalled car is a consequence of your stupidity.

Ticked Off

At the condition of Third Street in Riverside, broken pavement and potholes.

Ticked Off

With all the organizations and businesses asking for funding to help them survive yet us people have no where to get help with the rising costs of living! We have no extra cash laying around to fund you as well.

Ticked Off

Price of bread making national news. Has anyone bought any steel lately, pvc pipe, barbed wire, the list is endless. This is the world post COVID and have no idea when the greed is going to end. Get used to it!

Tickled Pink

I would like to see everyone wearing bicycle helmets. Bylaw states everyone under 18 must.

Ticked Off

Use a pail for your garbage not a plastic bag. Just empty it into your black bin. Do not line the pail with plastic either. Using plastic bags is adding to the plastic in the landfill. This is going against habits of years and is hard to do but is necessary.

Tickled Pink

I would be tickled pink if the city took the $138 million in power profits and paid it all down against our debt. Let’s take advantage of the opportunity to make our future better by reducing future payments. If payment terms prevent massive early repayment, then set it aside (safely) until renewal terms allow another lump sum payment. This is how I would do it in my own household.

Ticked Off

Ticked that people don’t research. To the human that states pedestrians have the right of way regardless of a crosswalk. Please read the Alberta pedestrian safety article on their website. Clearly states, “a pedestrian crossing a roadway outside a crosswalk must yield the right of way to vehicles. Unless a peace officer or traffic control device directs otherwise.”

Ticked Off

How hard can it be to get butter on a bagel? Apparently this can be a challenge for the majority of workers at a nationally recognized coffee shop. The struggle is real.

Ticked Off

Why does the city insist on planting trees and then do no appropriate aftercare (deep watering consistently) just so the neighbourhood can watch them die in front of them? Now we have a dead stick surrounded by posts and wire. Huge waste of taxes.

Ticked Off

Letter writer saying climate change was not cause of wildfires. Yes, climate change didn’t ignite the flames, but increased heat and dryness leads to more combustible material in forests. Climate change contributes.
