Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, June 15

Ticked Off

OK, opposition parties, it’s your turn. Instead of slings and barbs, and denigrating a respected Canadian (who was appointed Governor-General by a Conservative prime minister), let’s see you complete a united, rapid, comprehensive review, respecting security measures, of foreign interference in our country. I will be waiting to sit in judgement, as will many Canadians.

Ticked Off

You’re ticked off the city power department is making money? Do you understand the amount of critical infrastructure the department maintains, and the amount of manpower necessary to keep everything running? You’re the one using the power and the city is providing it – you’re paying for a service. If you don’t want to pay for utilities, then don’t use them.

Ticked Off

To the person complaining that no work gets done in Riverside because Third Street isn’t getting paved. Maybe look literally one street over where a city project is ongoing to replace old water and sewer pipes, including new road surface. Just another example of people being blind to everything that doesn’t directly affect them.

Tickled Pink

I love this city! The people are friendly, the flowers planted are gorgeous, the parks are amazing, our new council is awesome and there are so many interesting things to do. I feel like I live in the best city in the country. I have lived here for 40 years and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

Ticked Off

That the number of feral cats in the city is getting more attention than homelessness. Really? Something isn’t right with some people.

Ticked Off

Very frustrated that Fifth Street is used as a raceway every single day. Where are the police?

Ticked Off

That people do not know the difference between jaywalking, and pedestrians. Pedestrians only have the right of way in a pedestrian walk way. Crossing roads in the middle is jaywalking and it’s against the law. You can get a ticket, if caught.

Ticked Off

There is a tick explosion in Alberta. Stay on paths, do not go into the brush. Check your kids and pets. Ticks can cause serious health issues. Be diligent.

Tickled Pink

If the city would give us a break on our utility bill after making triple their profits they charge us on utilities.

Ticked Off

At all the grocery stores, restaurants, pubs, etc. that have the air conditioning so cold you have to wear a coat just to shop, eat a meal or have a drink. Why would the establishments think their customers would want to freeze? Please keep it a more comfortable temperature.
