As thousands of hatters will experience mid-june, the fixed electrical rate will go from 8 cents kwh to 16 cents kwh, a mere 100% increase just in time for a/c season. So much for the Medicine Hat advantage.

So tired of hearing that more money will fix health care. If you entice workers from other provinces or countries, you just leave them short. It takes time to train workers especially doctors.

Sad to see continued defacing of orange election signs. Disrespectful, illegal and childish. Definitely not the way to win my vote.

Strong Towns will do nothing but create elitist areas of the city, and overpopulated slums for everyone else. City and council is refusing to talk to the public unless it’s on Reddit, or a podcast. What a joke.

Sending a card, gift or message a few times a year is not really showing how much you really love, appreciate or respect your family. If you ghost them for no good reasons they won’t consider it genuine. Selfish, cruel and ignorant.

This food bank feeds every single person no questions asked, with the hotel community moving in, lord help us. No matter how much you earn or receive, everyone can get food regularly and as much as you need. Donors empty your bank accounts we need every penny.

At the people complaining about stray cats spraying their property. Well, I have dogs who stop and pee on my property all the time. Don’t see the difference, so stop complaining.

As a senior with a disability, I wish public bathrooms actually had higher toilets, which are available to purchase in most hardware stores. Yes, we have handicapped stalls, but the toilets installed are designed for children not people with hip or other mobility issues.

To see the Sunshine Trolley entering a creekside path and showing tourists our natural area by driving down a path that is celebrated for bringing people outdoors. Leave the trolley at the trail head and let the tourist have the pleasure of walking and hearing birdsong. Keep the paths for walkers and cyclists. Keep motors out of our natural areas, except for mobility aids.

That after all the expense and time of re-lining Leinweber pond, and after removing a lot of Russian olive, some fairly large Russian olive is still growing on one side of the pond and a whole row of mature Russian olive is still standing and spreading seed every fall and winter. Get rid of it now.

That flowering shrubs in our city and surrounding prairie habitat have burst forth in bloom – fragrant sumac, Saskatoon, currant – and low on the ground colourful wildflowers delight observant trail users – yellow violet, blue larkspur, yellow prairie alyssum, crocus, white and mauve moss phlox, prairie onion. Pollinators are feasting. Our natural areas are worth protecting and restoring!

Well here we are at the middle of May and tin can alley hasn’t had an event yet. It’s an eyesore and it’s useless.

Could we not start fixing some of the potholes on our Medicine Hat streets? Property taxes keep going up so there shouldn’t be a problem.

I wish my neighbour would put a barking collar on their dog or send their dog to school to stop. There’s no bad dogs, just bad dog owners.

Curling rinks, hockey rinks, leisure/pool centres, theatres, parks, paths, Stampede grounds, library, golf courses – all things that contribute to the quality of life our community offers people and businesses that are considering coming here.Got to have them to grow.

All those who believe we lost freedom. We aren’t in a war torn country, we aren’t forced to serve in military, we aren’t persecuted because of our religion, we are free. But for some reason people feel we aren’t free. Yes, we have to follow rules and laws but we are still free.
