Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 2

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on May 2, 2023.

Ticked Off

I had an ultrasound at the local radiology clinic, but when I saw a specialist in Calgary he said the local test was inferior and needs to be redone at a Calgary radiology clinic. The local clinic contact says its test is good, clear and professional. This redo costs me extra time and money for travel. It makes me suspicious about the motives of out-of-town medical specialists, extra costs to our Alberta health-care system and possible kickbacks.

Ticked Off

Who do you think has the more efficient health care, the U.S. or Alberta? We should definitely get our tax dollars back from our “free” health care and be able to spend them as we need, including going to the U.S. for immediate care.

Ticked Off

There should be money in our city utilities department for the power upgrade they are talking about. We are paying delivery charges every month for electricity.

Ticked Off

$300M+ to upgrade electrical in Medicine Hat? Shouldn’t be a problem. If the Province can pony up that amount for a new rink in Calgary, certainly an essential utility here would be a no-brainer.

Ticked Off

At the person complaining about losing their “freedoms.” You say you can’t speak the “truth” because you’ll be called a racist? You need to take a long look in the mirror, pal. For the record, you have the freedom to say whatever you want, and everyone else has the freedom to ignore your stupidity.

Tickled Pink

If the newer opposition leader federally can stand on a stack of bibles under oath and say he is paying for his travelling coast to coast to coast by mega jet dedicated to Conservatives, campaigning out of HIS pocket (meals/accommodations) or is it coming from Conservative voters’ campaign money? Past leaders bled that pot dry and were fired.

Ticked Off

Probably an unpopular opinion, but dumping all this money into professional sports and a new stadium seems so dumb to me. You’re telling me that with everything going on, there’s nothing more important that the province could be spending 300 million dollars on? Absolutely blows my mind. If the Flames need a new stadium, they should pay for it. The end.

Tickled Pink

To live in this country! I love our universal healthcare, the RCMP, our freedom of religion, and I do not feel our freedoms are in jeopardy. I do not understand why our governments feel they need to change things. Sometimes the status quo and inaction make the most sense. You don’t have to change things, just tweak them to make them better!

Tickled Pink

We recently relocated to Medicine Hat and we love it here. Our children especially love all the deer! The kids can easily feed the deer right out of their hands because they’re so tame and gentle. Good job, Medicine Hat!

Ticked Off

When will parents stop their children from feeding deer? If deer are fed, they will stay in the city. If your child wants a pet, get a dog.

Ticked Off

How sad that some people think the library is “no longer relevant to most citizens.” They should try going there and discover the many services and events (beyond books) offered, including a seed bank you can avail yourself of or contribute to. The library should be funded even more, not less. Every city’s culture benefits and is enriched by libraries, and struggles with tax increases in this day and age. Same goes for parks.

Ticked Off

You can stick your electric vehicles where the sun don’t shine! Your (sic) not gonna convince me.

Tickled Pink

I must of been one of the lucky ones. Went for bloodwork and sampling without an appointment because there was a month waiting list and I was in and out in 13 minutes. Thank you, AHS.

Ticked Off

To the post, “Well it’s that time of year again. Wonder how many streets the city will dig up this year”. There are many streets in need of repair. When do you think the city should do the work, during winter? I appreciate it when our roads are taken care of. You should, too.

Ticked Off

An organization quoting Biblical scripture and the CA charter of rights is charging $50 to listen to an instigator wishing to overthrow what we already have, which is freedom.

Ticked Off

Contribute to Canada instead of take, take, take. Cutting ties to Monarchy certainly doesn’t need consultation. Excuses, excuses, start the process. Have a plebiscite ask us Canadians.

Tickled Pink

At the work ethic of the two city workers installing new parking signs on Fourth Avenue SE. Those two guys were like a well oiled machine. Keep up the good work!

Tickled Pink

With our local landfill. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly handsome. Recycling my D-cell batteries is almost as fun as wearing them down.

Ticked Off

At the suggestion of defunding the library and parks to save tax dollars. They are important “third places” and serve the health of the overall community.

Ticked Off

How about the MH News does a poll on how long have you been waiting to: Get a doctor’s appointment, Get a lab appointment, Wait for a referral to see a gynaecologist? Then we can get the results and ask our local MLAs.
