Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, March 23

Tickled Pink

Thanks goes to the lady who followed my car to let me know I lost a hubcap due to a deep pothole (Project Mohole) near Princess Street and Maple Avenue northbound. I returned to the site and found my hubcap next to another lost hubcap, which I left. Many thanks for your thoughtfulness.

Ticked Off

That my vocabulary expanded with the term “stochastic terrorism.” I suggest every reader who, like me, was unfamiliar with that term look it up. Then consider how it may happen more often across Canada as political, cultural, racial, religious and ideological divisions infect our nation instead of acceptance, co-operation, compromise and kindness.

Ticked Off

My tax dollars paid for a popular music venue downtown. My access to buying good seats is restricted because I can’t afford to pay extra money and join their “club.” So community members, with more money, get better seats because they can afford to pay for an elitist membership, in a building that my tax dollar paid for.

Ticked Off

People who complain about the current government. At election time, put your vote where your opinions are – be the change to make Alberta better.

Ticked Off

Whose brain wave was it to take away the right turn lane on Third Street SE to South Railway Street?

Ticked Off

Isn’t it just a miracle that before an election the government can all of a sudden give money to causes that have needed it for years but could never get any help before? For example, the service sector.

Ticked Off

To say that paying for carbon emission damage is already covered by recycling and environmental fees and is a cash grab is incorrect. It is necessary to add fees to offset carbon damage costs because the pre-existing fees are insufficient to cover the added cost.

Tickled Pink

Many people would be tickled pink if Mary Brown’s Chicken would return to Medicine Hat. It’s 100% owned and operated … proudly Canadian. Other chicken establishments are American owned. Please can somebody open up a Mary Brown’s franchise in our city? They are the best! Support Canadian businesses. North side of the city would be the best.

Ticked Off

That an organization feels they have the right to make anyone wear a certain jersey or any other sort of representation of something you do not believe in or support. No one has the right to force you to do anything against your religious beliefs. (Editor’s note: No one was. That’s why neither Ivan Provorov, nor James Reimer, were punished in any way for not wearing a Pride jersey during 10 minutes of warmup in one game out of 82.)

Ticked Off

Ridiculous to say that buying a dozen eggs and paying for a whole winter’s snow removal are comparable. If you only needed four eggs, you still have eight more to use otherwise. If only four snow removals were needed, you don’t get the money back for the other eight you possibly needed! Give your head a shake!

Tickled Pink

With paper bills. Open envelope. Done. No virus. Easy to find not mixed in with the daily 20 junk emails, or worse, the fake invoices I get by email weekly. Instant access. No password, no account required. No wondering what device it’s stored on. Can easily make notes on. Can stick on fridge. Many, many benefits to paper invoices as individual.

Ticked Off

The planes buzzing over the city. When we bought our house, we looked at a map to make sure we weren’t on a flight path. With the airport on the edge of city and all that open country we never expected low-flying planes to be buzzing our yard. Low.

Ticked Off

Canada should not be involved in Haiti. It is not a Canadian problem! Let France sort it out!

Tickled Pink

I am going to be like Trudeau, I am going do countless corrupt things and then get close family friends to investigate me. But don’t you people dare complain when I am found innocent!

Ticked Off

That the mall has few, if any, parking spaces for parents with young children, but no shortage of spots for food delivery companies.

Ticked Off

I do feel for the Ukrainian citizens affected by the war. But America should be doing more for these refugees, this is America’s proxy war and they are responsible for this mess.

Tickled Pink

To the lady who picked up my green leather wallet on St. Patrick’s Day and turned it into a downtown bank. I looked and looked up and down the street that day. It made me so happy that someone with a good heart found it. Thank you.
