Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Mar. 7

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on March 7, 2023.

Tickled Pink

That The Tigers were able to beat No. 1 WHL team, Winnipeg Ice, 6-4 and No. 3 WHL team, Kamloops Blazers, 7-3. On top of that, they ended each team’s 11-game winning streak. Keep up the great teamwork. Go Tigers go!

Ticked Off

Lich attending budget tabling, invited by Barnes and possibly OK’d by our premier, and some government members applauding her, shows us all their true colors. Horrendous!

Ticked Off

Really, bringing an insurrectionist to the tabling of the budget seems stupider than I thought possible. I can’t imagine who would do that.

Tickled Pink

I would be tickled pink if all elected officials at all levels of government could only hold office for no more than two terms, after that they would have to go out and get a real job. We have far too many people that get into an elected position and seemingly become a 30- or 40-year veteran in politics. I would like to see a two-term system across Canada but alas I don’t usually get my hypothetical dreams.

Ticked Off

That the News opted against free speech. The Dilbert comic strip is innocent. What its writer said should have no bearing on running the strip. This is more of the mindless “emperor has no clothes” syndrome. (Editor’s note: The News did not “opt against free speech.” Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence, and by removing the Dilbert comic strip, the News has in fact exercised its own freedom of speech).

Tickled Pink

I’m so happy that our provincial government has struck a deal with the feds for more health-care money. Now all the top AHS managers can book limousine services to work and meetings.

Tickled Pink

The old arena would be a great place to assist the homeless. House all the support programs in the old arena. Having everything all in one building would make it easier for these struggling individuals to get assistance. The old arena is not in anyone’s immediate neighborhood and the police station is next door. Ample parking and infrastructure already there.

Ticked Off

Ticked off the city is moving its investments away from AIMCo. Anytime someone is promising above average returns with almost no risk it’s time to cover your wallet with both hands and run.

Ticked Off

What exactly is an independent politician able to do for a community?

Ticked Off

I am disappointed that the MHN editorial board decided to stop publishing Dilbert by Scott Adams. Dilbert/Adams have accurately portrayed corporate life for many years. They will be missed.

Tickled Pink

The City of Medicine Hat is moving on from AIMCo. Investing – wonder if one local MLA (the premier) will be annoyed. Unfortunate that provincial employees don’t have the same option for their pensions.

Ticked Off

So I got my Tax Guide from our local MP. Once again, being a senior I see I can income-spilt with my spouse for “qualifying pension income.” Why don’t you tell us something useful like which pension incomes qualify? It is a 16-page booklet, surely some space could have been found for a list. Maybe I will just split it all and say I was confused, like our city councillors were on the new proposed smoking bylaw.
