Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Mar. 2

Ticked Off

Our old arena, is currently destined for demolition. One estimated cost is around $3 million. The Arena has received many upgrades over the years: lighting; heating; sound; seating; score board, even a new entrance! These are notable attributes for a variety of potential repurposing projects! Even if just simply repurposed for storage, or rental, it would make economic sense, rather than demolish a sound structure, just because it has been replaced!

Tickled Pink

I would be tickled pink if we could somehow treat gambling ads the same way as we treat cigarette ads in newspapers, radio and television – advertising is not allowed in any of these media. We seem to be inundated with gambling ads recently. I don’t mean just the sports betting but the provincial casinos as well. Gambling is probably as bad for families and individuals as smoking. Let’s get rid of all gambling ads.

Ticked Off

It’s time to drop the comic strip Dilbert. Often petty and inaccurate in its attacks on liberal views, it has now dipped to a new low thanks to its creator, Scott Adams. In an interview, he attempts to be funny by calling black people “a hate group” who are picking on white people. How about a comic strip and creator that are truly funny for a change? (Editor’s note: The News is no longer publishing Dilbert as a result of Adams’ comments).

Tickled Pink

Sure glad I locked in at 2022 utility prices, I will monitor all options in the meantime to determine which one is giving the best value before locking in for an entire year.

Tickled Pink

That the north side is finally getting dental offices (not just one but two).

Ticked Off

Trudeau and Biden will stand by the corrupt Ukraine government for as long as it takes. Forget about struggling families, a money laundering proxy war on the other side of the globe is a far better use of taxpayer dollars, right?

Tickled Pink

I’m curious. Managers are suppose to promote positive mental health at the work place. Funny how some managers are the one’s creating a toxic workplace environment. Maybe those managers need to get re-trained or find another non-managerial job!

Tickled Pink

Thank you to city crews for keeping our main arteries graded, open and sanded! Some residents not so much, clean your walkways.

Ticked Off

University of Lethbridge wasn’t so smart not letting professor speak. Freedom of speech works both ways, just like decades old claims. Really we only hear one side of the story. I’m not stupid.

Tickled Pink

So happy to have a premier who is trying to solve health-care issues in Alberta by a means other than hiring more bureaucrats. She is pushing much of the decision making and resource distribution to the front lines, where it should be. During her short tenure the government has already completed a new contract with Alberta doctors and taken many other steps to improve the system. Change will not happen overnight.

Tickled Pink

Tickled pink if The News would drop the Dilbert cartoon. I haven’t read it for years because it became dark and not funny with the introduction of the Elbonians and abusive after that. The cartoon should have stayed with office politics.

Ticked Off

I can’t believe the city sends a sanding truck down my back alley to pepper vehicles and garage doors. Surely there must be roads in this city that require more attention than coming down my alley damaging my vehicles and property. I had rocks on my vehicles and halfway up my driveway. For pete’s sake let’s use some common sense here!

Tickled Pink

We hear so much about our poor health care. I had eye surgery (Dr. Carlsson), very good care! We are so lucky to have these special people.

Ticked Off

Throwing more money that doesn’t exist at health care and expecting immediate change has never worked. There has to be more people allowed to get the training and that takes many years.

Tickled Pink

That I get to live here. It really is a wonderful place to live.

Ticked Off

Ticked off that Morris Rosenberg, former CEO of the Trudeau Foundation, was chosen to prepare the independent report regarding foreign interference in Canada’s election process. Does anyone else see this as a serious conflict of interest? Of course, he found no interference!

Tickled Pink

That a simple Google search for snow fall amounts for Medicine Hat is more accurate than the local evening weather forecast. Actually looking outside at the clouds seem to give a more accurate reading for the amount of snow that is broadcast to fall by the TV weather team. Maybe a window might be a good addition to the studio for future weather forecasts.

Ticked Off

That some people can’t form a complete sentence without the “F” bomb.

Tickled Pink

The cranes that erect windmills run on diesel fuel, yes they do, as does most of the other equipment on site. But when these machines have finished their work, we are left with a structure that will produce clean electricity. Tickled Pink, there is no contradiction. We use what we have now, to build something better.

Ticked Off

And embarrassed again with our local kicked-out caucus member calling Tamara Lich a hero. You should not have a privilege of spouting your ridiculous personal opinion about someone who created such mass disruption to so many innocent people.

Tickled Pink

Many thanks to the young people that turned in my wallet at the Tigers game. Future is in good hands with people like you!

Ticked Off

I’m ticked off the liquor stores in this town are still selling Russian vodka in the stores.
