Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 24

Ticked Off

Like her predecessor, you would think Premier Danielle Smith could at least find a satellite office space within her Medicine Hat riding boundaries. Reminder: You don’t represent Cypress-Medicine Hat. One would think you’d like to support a landlord in your own riding. Pathetic.

Ticked Off

That we are learning so much about our universe and our place and realities of our existence in it.

Ticked Off

That the city will be raising its fees and services by 4%, yet it announced it will have an $85 million surplus. That after council’s October 2021 election, it fired and devastated hard-working dedicated employees, but now it will hire 27 positions in the next two years.

Tickled Pink

The Labour Board said an employer has to pay their employee for their last day of work if they were scheduled, regardless of whether they worked or not.

Ticked Off

I did not write the other one but I am also ticked off at the person who has so many vehicles that I can’t get my garbage bins out. Please be a considerate neighbour.

Ticked Off

Why does the media detest the term “populism” in politics? It means the common people actually agree with what the person is saying. What is wrong with that? Should the people only toe the line with socialist policies to be accepted?

Tickled Pink

Leftists leaving Twitter because of “uncertainty.” In other words, if they can’t have the only side of the argument, they will take their ball and go home.

Tickled Pink

That Danielle Smith is our premier. She is doing a fantastic job. Alberta is so lucky to have a premier who is standing up for our rights.

Ticked Off

The bylaw requiring sidewalks to be cleaned is a joke. Bylaw officers only enforce it if a neighbour complains. There are large stretches of Division Avenue NE and 20th Street that are never cleaned.

Tickled Pink

I was so happy to see two dead deer on the back road to Redcliff, that’s two less rats in town. I am not happy that someone had their life put in danger and the vehicle most likely destroyed. I would also be happy if Ratcliff got sued for damages because the powers that be have been aware of the problem for a loooooong time and don’t care.

Tickled Pink

City can’t figure out what to charge for natural gas? Take your production cost plus operating expenses, add 20% (respectable profit), there’s your price. Don’t worry about what they’re doing in Edmonton or Grande Prairie. We’re the “Gas City” remember.

Ticked Off

Front-page photo of distracted sled rider holding cell phone to film is how bad crashes happen. Plus, just enjoy the moment.

Ticked Off

That the city is going to allow increases to my utilities bill so they can increase the size of our reserve fund. Next they will probably use the reserve fund to build some big project that needs more property taxes to operate.

Ticked Off

How come city council will immediately halt the entire workings of City Hall to address a Facebook complaint or a clothesline issue, but see no issue in hammering through massive increases in the fixed rates for gas and electricity that so many in this community rely on to stay solvent? Priorities!

Tickled Pink

Kudos to all who made The Little Mermaid production happen. Obviously so much work with the elaborate costumes and sets and so much talent! Medicine Hat is very blessed to have so many gifted people.

Tickled Pink

As a cancer survivor, not to mention surviving another two near death experiences, I invite you to stop your whining. I am grateful for the care I received.

Ticked Off

How about spend more on mental health?

Tickled Pink

Would like to see the twining of Highway 3 to Medicine Hat, and LRT train in Calgary to Banff completed. Now that’s called progress.

Ticked Off

Freedom should be the cry of the left wing who want to give everybody an equal chance in this country and not the cry of the right-wing fascists who would like to overthrow our government.

Tickled Pink

Love our new premier. If Danielle can implement all the measures outlined in her speech, it is going to help our family and others tremendously. Love the positivity too, such a breath of fresh air.
