Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Oct. 11

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on October 11, 2022.

Ticked Off

At the people who think putting your dog poo in anyone’s garbage is silly. Well I am in complete agreement of this person who complained. I also do not want your dog crap in my garbage. So just because you are a dog owner does not mean you do not respect other people’s property.

Tickled Pink

I’d like to thank all the generous citizens in Medicine Hat for allowing me to discard my dog waste bags in your garbage bins! Beats carrying it around for the full walk.

Ticked Off

At the owners of the Medicine Hat Tigers. No opening game tailgate, no third jersey, no bobble head games, brutal souvenir store, etc, etc. Worst ownership in sports anywhere. It’s an embarrassment to the fans that continue to support the team. It’s no wonder attendance has dwindled steadily the past few years.

Ticked Off

That businesses are now allowed to charge an extra fee when a credit card is used to pay for a purchase. Credit card companies win. Businesses win because they don’t have to pay as much for services of credit car companies. And you and I, the consumers, lose both ways!

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith wants to re-challenge carbon tax, what a flipping waste of money. Those legal fees could help Albertans instead of going to some thirsty lawyer.

Tickled Pink

Glad to see pockets filled on Carrey Drive rehabilitation. For real? Yeesh.

Ticked Off

I didn’t know when I bought a raffle ticket from Hockey Canada I was supporting a secret sexual assault fund. Never again will I support Hockey Canada.

Tickled Pink

Russian Olive trees – don’t hate them just because they’re a non-indigenous species. They’re beautiful and thrive in our dry, windy area. I enjoy seeing them. Gorgeous shade of sage green bringing life and colour to the grasslands we all love.

Ticked Off

That some folks are aware of the responsibilities of dog owners to pick up after their dogs, but not their own responsibility to make sure their trash bin is on their own property when it is not their pickup day. According to Waste Bylaw #1805, carts must be removed off public roadways and lanes after collection has been completed. If your bin is in your yard, it shouldn’t be readily available for others’ waste.

Tickled Pink

That the editor corrects or gets the last word in TO/TP comments. which stops fake news by the complainer/bitcher who voices their opinion. Don’t want the correction by editor? Don’t mislead other readers then.

Ticked Off

That our local TV station won’t cover local sports. Only showing over-hyped, over-priced “pro” athletes. Thank goodness the News gives our kids front page coverage in the sports section, over the pros.

Tickled Pink

With the editor’s comments after TO/TP submissions. For those who can’t handle a little criticism, don’t submit anything! Let’s see what happens here.

Ticked Off

Why hasn’t anyone opened a Taco Bell in Medicine Hat? I’m getting tired of making day trips to Lethbridge.

Ticked Off

That I can no longer use food coupons at a certain fast food place without having an app on my phone. This is discrimination against people who do not own a cell phone. This is absolutely not customer service and my family and friends will no longer support you.

Ticked Off

To the person who wants the speed limit on “main arteries” increased to 60 km. What do you call main arteries? As far as I can see the busy arteries have several intersections with traffic lights. Increasing the speed would not help as there would be not enough distance between the intersections to get up to 60 if you are driving safely. There are enough people driving out there way over the speed limit. We don’t need to encourage them.

Tickled Pink

For many in the UCP, Danielle Smith is their answer. For many others she is the punchline for a bad joke. Go ahead and try it. Ask a question, then respond Danielle Smith. Hilarious.

Ticked Off

Another leader comes in flinging fake news. Battle with Ottawa. Did we not learn from previous leader? He didn’t last his four-year term. Voters don’t need a battling premier, we need one who looks after us.

Tickled Pink

I am very pleased the city has a huge profit with the power plant this year. I hope our city council will make good use of it by paying down some of our corporate debt at this time of rising interest rates. Even debt currently at low rates is at risk of higher rates when terms expire.

Ticked Off

Interesting how past local politicians who ran for council and mayor positions campaigned on how they loved living in Medicine Hat with all its amenities, etc. But when they fail to get elected/re-elected they move away from the Hat in a “flash”.

Ticked Off

The most overused and false term being used now is “working tirelessly.” Sorry, no one works without being tired. Especially false when referring to anyone in government.

Ticked Off

Kenney gets 51% and resigns. Smith gets barely 54% and says, “I’m back.” Not for long. Buckle up folks for a circus ride. So, go Rachel!

Tickled Pink

I like the relatively recent effort by the editor to rein in some of the falsehoods. On this day, the score was 26 ticked vs. one tickled pink. Thou doth protest way too much. People going hungry and you are worried about dog poop.

Ticked Off

The Alberta government has just jumped from frying pan into the fire. A few thousand Albertans have just elected a new premier designate to lead this province of 4.5 million. Thank goodness this is a temporary government with no mandate from the general electorate. We look forward to the next provincial election May 2023.

Ticked Off

Not an impressive win with 53% votes for Danielle Smith. You’re only temporary until the real election.

Ticked Off

How can any thinking individual vote for a politician who doesn’t understand basic public health measures? This email was built and sent using Visual Form Builder.

Ticked Off

So Danielle Smith becomes the leader of the UCP and our new premier, and what happens? The price of gas goes up. Looks to me like same old same old: lots of talk and no action. (Editor’s note: You’ll have plenty of time to judge Smith’s actions, or lack there of, however, ‘didn’t make private companies charges less for gasoline four days before she’s even sworn in’ seems a tad over the top.)

Ticked Off

Hope Danielle Smith doesn’t cause too much damage before her party is voted out next provincial election.

Ticked Off

That Danielle Smith is running in the Brooks-Medicine Hat riding. Frey did nothing and I would anticipate Smith doing even less. Just terrible.

Ticked Off

I’m old enough to remember when each household had burning barrels to dispose of garbage down the back lanes. Allowing backyard fire pits to stink up the community should be banned. This type of activity belongs at the camp ground. Hatters deserve a clean air environment.

So this is where Scott Schmidthead landed, making his wise-crack remarks to ticked off and tickled pink people.
