Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Aug. 25

Tickled Pink

I prefer Medicine Hat’s deer population to its human population.

Ticked Off

If they have a shortage of doctors and nurses in the health-care system as it exists now, where are they going to find those professionals in the private sector?

Ticked Off

A message to Lisa LaFamme. Get over it. No job is sacred nowadays. Those days are gone. You are just a number to the employer.

Ticked Off

Do not cull the deer in this city! We have expanded into their lands for years and thus we have more deer in this city. Do your research, there are many beautiful deer-resistant flowers that the deer will not eat… We all love seeing the deer and their babies; people just need to plant the right flowers to keep them away from their flowerbeds. Talk to the people at the greenhouses, they know the deer-resistant plants. Leave the beautiful animals alone!

Ticked Off

What a pathetic display of the hanging baskets downtown. Have the powers that be even seen this mess?

Ticked Off

With natural gas priced around $8-10 the city should be raking in tens of millions of dollars and should have no need to raise taxes. Oh wait they closed in thousands of gas wells as they were not profitable when gas was down at $2.

Ticked Off

The people in this very small city whine and complain in an open public forum about politics, but will do nothing else! Do you think any of the candidates are going to read this and say “Oh boy I better do something”? You need to grow a pair and talk to them directly.

Ticked Off

Over and over city presents opposites in same sentence. Connaught pond “is a natural environment” so we killed trees that have been there for decades but we won’t remove the dead trees because it’s “not a manicured location.” Pick a policy and stick to it.

Ticked Off

Maybe the Come to Alberta job campaign should read “Alberta’s a great place to live as long as you don’t get sick.” Let’s get real.

Ticked Off

You can’t text or otherwise use your smartphone while you are driving, which I completely agree with, but you can use a touchscreen on your dash to control almost every aspect of your car and that is OK? You have to take your eyes off the road for a considerable time to use the touchscreen.
