Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 5

Tickled Pink

Many thanks to the kind young man who came to help us unload our tree branches at the city dumps. Your kindness and effort were very much appreciated. We will pay it forward.

Ticked Off

This country is huge. People have come from all over it to peacefully protest in Ottawa and every time our weak, name-calling bully of a PM finds a way to get out of town rather than meeting with his citizens.

Tickled Pink

Hats off to hear local construction company purchasing Ogilvies. This will be a success!

Ticked Off

There is talk of the installation of traffic stop lights on top of Division Avenue and Third Street. No! Keep the four-way stop signs, they are wonderful and still a great system for that intersection.

Tickled Pink

I’m all for an Alberta provincial police force. Seems a no brainer when both Ontario and Quebec have had their own provincial police force for decades and it works great for them. Further, B.C. will soon get their provincial force up and running. Other than disrupting the ol’ boys network and status quo, it will work for Alberta also.

Ticked Off

Why are there not enough paramedics and EMTs to staff the ambulances? I’m hearing that there aren’t enough staff anymore because they’re going to better professions, maybe give these people a flipping wage increase before they all bail!

Tickled Pink

Consequence – tell you what, those who organized convoy should pay for the police presence required to protect on top of jail and criminal record.

Tickled Pink

Thank you to the lady who paid my bill at the Costco Gas Bar on the Easter weekend. I will pass the good deed on.

Ticked Off

I thought there was something about controlling the vehicles with souped up noisy motors so that we can enjoy the summer outdoors. Nothing seems to have been done. They are still out there.

Ticked Off

I’m sure all those protestors blocking the highways in B.C. will soon have their and their supporters’ bank accounts frozen, and thousands of police officers brought in and another state of emergency initiated to clear these paralyzing illegal blockades. Oh, wait a minute… they’re leftists.

Tickled Pink

With regard to our carbon tax rebates, someone recently said: “China has No Carbon Tax… and their emissions have tripled over the last two decades.” Thank you for telling us! Sounds like a good example of what not to do. Shouldn’t we set the bar a little higher, or a lot higher? If we are going to compare, let’s compare ourselves with countries who actually are succeeding in the fight against climate change. There are lots of them in northern Europe and Scandinavia. Let’s learn from them.

Ticked Off

Ticked off to see the price of natural gas is almost doubled for May. It can’t be the cold weather or the hot weather as we haven’t had either for a while now. I bet the city is really regretting closing in the wells that likely would be profitable at this price. Always making decisions based on the short term.

Ticked Off

There is a Manitoba maple full of seeds in a friend’s yard that is breeding masses of maple bugs. The tree is bent and ugly. There is a beautiful tree near it that is not a maple. The maple should be cut down but landlord doesn’t want to bother. It can’t be healthy to have bugs crawling all over.

Tickled Pink

To the genius from Tuesday’s TOTP – In reality, electric cars require drastically less maintenance than gasoline cars. Fewer moving parts, no oil changes, no transmission fluid, less brake wear from regenerative breaking, and the list goes on.

Ticked Off

Loose cats in NE Crescent Heights. Keep your pets in your yard your neighbour’s do not want them!

Tickled Pink

To realize that a weed store is now a bad investment in this economy.

Tickled Pink

People should realize that the property owner pays the taxes on the frontage of that property so should use common sense and courtesy with that thought.
