Hard to believe the anti-maskers still think masks do nothing. Do you really believe doctors have been wearing masks in operating rooms for decades if they do nothing?

It is funny how we pay so much attention to the federal and provincial elections, but many people don’t bother to vote in our municipal elections. As a friend pointed out recently, it is the municipal level of government which has the most impact on our daily lives. They determine the quality and location of our parks, roads, recreational facilities, utilities (and rates), property taxes, etc. Please check out the new candidates this year and vote Oct. 18.

About that $100 or so utility rebate. The government can’t give you what they haven’t already taken away. The “rebate” is money taken by city council from our city’s savings account. How did it get there? From taxing us and from utility charges in the first place. Funny how the “rebate” (Really, call it a refund!) comes to us in an election year.

Finally the Federal Government has done the right thing… mandatory vaccinations for all employees… now why not all companies follow suit or there will be a fourth..fifth…sixth and seventh wave of COVID!

A long overdue increase to seniors’ pension cheques should happen. When AISH recipients are making more money monthly then seniors that’s a big red flag! Where is fair play and equality for them?

The Hat and Cypress County COVID-19 numbers are staggering! Cases continue to rise exponentially. City and provincial government inactions are totally irresponsible and absolutely reckless. Neither addressing severity or legislating any measures to reign this in. Shame on all of you!
