Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Jan. 14, 2020

Ticked Off

Thanks to the recent Alberta budget 2020 will see financial institutions, insurance companies, foreign-owned corporations and their directors all see better after-tax profits. Unfortunately, life for the disabled, those dependent on medical care or individuals attempting to upgrade their job skills or education won’t be quite as fortunate.

Ticked Off

The U.S. spends more money per capita on health care than any other developed country. Its two-tier private system is also responsible for nearly one-third of all personal bankruptcies in America. Clearly there is a wide service gap for the wealthy and the working poor. This is the system our Alberta government sees as one to emulate.

Tickled Pink

I hope our arithmetically challenged MLA will now explain to her church that their annual operating costs must be adjusted again. Even though her party followed through on transferring carbon tax revenues to Ottawa, insurance premiums and electric prices will increase for consumers as her government has removed caps.

Ticked Off

It’s amazing how many left-wing people have time to write into this column, always complaining about something. This section of the paper should be cancelled so that these people could go out and look for a job.

Ticked Off

I can’t see any black on the Canadian flag, so why do national teams wear black jerseys?

Ticked Off

Why are our utility rates based on an average throughout the province? Where is the “Medicine Hat advantage” if we pay an average?

Ticked Off

The Alberta government should look at doctors who expect patients to book follow up appointments after requested tests results return. If your test results are normal, what a waste of time for the patient as time off work impacts the employer and employee if unpaid. It’s a waste of valuable appointment time when physicians are so heavily booked.

Ticked Off

Only a fool would talk about separation, and we seem to have lots in Alberta.

Ticked Off

I thought Harper was supposed to build the pipeline but now Trudeau is getting the blame. He’s tried everything but the truth is the American sponsored demonstrators are preventing it by keeping it in the courts.

Tickled Pink

Kudos to the City of Medicine Hat for continuing it’s HatSmart rebate program.

Ticked Off

So glad the HatSmart program will continue to assist Medicine Hat households. Alas, we didn’t receive a rebate because neither our new air conditioner nor our new furnace, were large enough.

Tickled Pink

Yes Mr. Barnes, Alberta does spend more on education and health care. I’m sure there are some efficiencies that can be found, but what you conveniently do not state is that Alberta has the lowest debt to GDP ratio in Canada as well as a median after tax household income average $9,000 higher than Saskatchewan.

Tickled Pink

Happy New Year. With another year of uncertain oilfield employment facing Alberta, I have decided this is the year to change careers without an expensive education upgrade. Pro bull rider, lumberjack or politician.

Tickled Pink

Happy I got to spend a couple weeks working in Lethbridge. Now there is a city on the grow! Must be nice to have a mayor and council with some vision. News flash for Medicine Hat: You can’t grow an economy relying solely on seniors and retired folk.

Ticked Off

When you take your bottles and cans to the depot make sure they are empty, clean and dry. I see workers splashed in their faces with liquids and a big swath of chocolate milk on the floor. Shame. We can do better than this.

Tickled Pink

Thank you Medicine Hat News for letting the truth be told. As a Hatter, I’m proud of what you are doing by uncovering, exposing and addressing false narratives, ethical wrongdoings and simply calling out the BS. Journalism at its best. Thanks for keeping it honest.

Ticked Off

With all the “righties” criticizing so called “lefties.” Why is it so hard for you to hear that your blue team has competition/opposition?

Ticked Off

All those large wind turbines built and producing power in short time but our two small blue ones at the cultural center still not turning. I think we were given a story about testing them for many months. Is this another poorly conceived tax dollar investment?

Tickled Pink

It is great to see some Albertans have a brain and understand what a stupid idea it was to vote UCP the NDP were not to blame for all the debt but at least they helped everyone and didn’t throw money away on unnecessary panels that cost the taxpayers.

I agree, soon we’re going to need a panel to manage the panels. We can call it “The panel of all panels and to Hell with the Red Tape Reduction.”

And the whiny lefties at work again. Would love to see the ip addresses of those people, it’s the same ones crying over and over and over again. NDP lost, and won’t get back in again, deal with it and move on.

Impala, If you’re talking about me.
My name is posted and it will always be posted.
And if you think I’m a “whiny lefty” look back at some of my letters to the editors. I don’t hitch my wagon to anybody.
