Letter: Current provincial government nothing like great conservatives of old

Dear editor,

Once again, Edmontonians and those in the surrounding area have shown that they understand what is happening to this province and have voted to try to protect it.

Why then is it so hard for many Calgarians and Rural Albertans to understand that the defeated and victorious NDP candidates are sons and daughters of true Alberta conservatives who proudly supported the Lougheed and Getty governments and know that there is nothing conservative about this Reform Party driven UCP government and Danielle Smith?

I helped nine doctors relocate out of this province when Klein was treating them badly and one said it best: “Why should I stay in Alberta and support my patients, when my patients have refused to support me against this tyrant”?

So why should they stay and accept another four years of abuse at the hands of Danielle Smith and these phony Conservatives?

If the doctor shortage in rural Alberta wasn’t bad enough, you may have voted to make it a lot worse.
