Letter: Last chance to have concerns about Aira solar project heard by Alberta Utilities Commission

Dear editor,

Regarding the Aira Wind Power Inc., Aira Solar Project Power Plant and Substation – AUC Proceeding 27842 Notice of Applications (applications 27842-A001 and 27842-A002), published in The 40 Mile Commentator on December 27, 2022.

Concerned people have created a registered AUC group – Farmers and Ranchers against Solar Group – (FARAS Group).

A reminder that Jan. 19 is the deadline to register with the Alberta Utilities Commission to participate as an intervener and have your concerns listened to by the AUC regarding the 450 megawatt, 1.2 million solar panels, 28 quarter section Aira Solar project proposed to be built in the County of 40 Mile, south of Murray Lake Reservoir – the largest project in North America.

If you miss the Jan. 19 deadline and want to participate, please contact faras40mile@gmail.com and have your name and concerns added to the Farmers and Ranchers Group.

An online registration form is available until Jan. 19 at auc.ab.ca.

At the top of the page click “Applications,” on the drop down menu click “Apply” or “Access Applications” and then click eFiling system and follow the directions.

Create your username and login (you will be emailed a temporary password). At the top left under home section under go to – type 27842 Then on the left side bar click on registered parties. Then click the green tab at the top – register to participate and register as an intervener

Enter the info and your concerns; this is your opportunity to have your voice heard.
