Letter: Canada’s Prime Minister should have deep respect for the country’s citizens

By Letter to the Editor on March 3, 2022.

Dear editor,

A few years ago in what seems like a far away land, Canada hosted the World Hockey Championships. Prime Minister Stephen Harper attended the championship game between Canada and Russia. It was great to see the Prime Minister in attendance in support of Canada’s team. Prime Minister Harper sat in general seating beside other cheering Canadians. At intermission, he was interviewed in his seat about the game and his interest as a hockey historian.

Such was the case less than 10 years ago – a decent man in the Prime Minister’s office who had deep respect for the citizens of Canada and could sit among them.

Now the reality is much different. A garden variety thug is in power. He can barely even come out in public much less attend a sporting event, lest he be greeted with derision and scorn from the people he lies about.
