Letter: Thrown to the wolves

By Letter to the Editor on August 14, 2021.

Dear editor,

Medicine Hat (and the rest of Alberta) has been thrown to the wolves as far as COVID-19 is concerned.

At today’s COVID update for medical staff in the South zone there was universal concern about the province’s direction with respect to the loss of the mask mandate and the planned reduction of testing and surveillance. There was no rationale supplied and no support given for the relaxation of precautions at this time.

The rates of infection are increasing and the immunization rates lagging. There is no plan to improve the ventilation systems in the schools.

We have been misled by our leaders Premier Kenney, Minister Shandro, Mayor Clugston and MLA Barnes.

We are in for a rough ride over the next few weeks.

Get vaccinated.

Wear a mask.

Stay home when possible.

Good luck.

Well said we agree.
While this phony conservative, Reformer, slashes taxes for his rich friends he has to find ways to make up for his revenue cutting stupidity.
He wanted to save money by cutting these covid services, promises to cut 11,000 health care jobs, putting lives at risk, like Klein did, cut wages for doctors, nurses and teachers, kick out the RCMP so he can dump the total costs of a new police force onto the backs of the property owners in the form of property taxes, like Klein did with privatization and deregulation and we are expected to be dumb enough to accept it. We aren’t.
Now watch these insane fellow seniors attack me with their ignorant comments. They are dumb enough to support whatever lie Kenney feeds them. My senior friends and I find it sad that we are only seeing seniors who are dumb enough to go along with his lies, the young people aren’t that stupid.
