Letter: Kenney entering Redford territory

By Letter to the Editor on January 8, 2021.

Dear editor,

Mr. Jim Groom’s comment, “the Premier can’t remove them (MLAs) from office,” is partially true. Just the same as the constituency would have to wait until the next election to vote them out. The Premier or leader of the party can refuse to sign the nomination papers and Kenney did refuse several people’s nomination papers. Even revoked some candidates after some controversy surfaced.

The biggest problem Albertans are facing is, “it’s only the will of the UCP members that can refuse and remove Kenney as the leader.” There is always the possibility of a revolt from the UCP caucus, much the same as what the PCs did to Redford.

Let’s hope the former happens and happens before Kenney totally destroys Alberta in principle and Albertans in spirit.

The true conservatives in my world hope you are right but wouldn’t count on it. We tried to vote out Klein but his ignorant followers would let us and Kenney seems to have the same fan base, as Klein.A lot are ignorant seniors.
Even Klein’s father Phil and daughter Angie tried to help us.

What a couple of drama queens you two guys are. The sky is falling, the sky is falling… actually no it isn’t. But it might if the silly NDP ever got in power again.

So let’s get this straight. You didn’t like it when you used the name Impala and people called you an Imbecile so you changed your name to Insane Leftie to brag about who you really are. What a clever idea now we can’t call you names you already did it to yourself. I wonder who the drama queen really is in this case? Could it be some fool calling himself an InsaneLeftie. At least he got it right, he is supporting one.
Sadly have you noticed that you aren’t getting any help being the only cheer leader Kenney has out of a population of 66,000.
I can’t wait to hear what your response will be it’s always a good laugh and that’s what we all need at this time.

Great response, Fedup…
The “insane” part is InsaneLeftie thinks everyone that does not agree with the UCP agenda must be an NDP. And nothing is further from the truth with myself.
The truth is, I do not hook my wagon to any horse or jackass that walks by.
If anyone searched my “Letters to the Editor” they will see I was also just as critical to the NDP when they were the government. It is called hold our government and at times even hold the opposition accountable.
The truth is, I voted for neither the UCP nor the NDP and I was hoping for the first minority government in the history of Alberta politics. Many times I sit here and think, “Alberta would not be in the mess it is in if we had a minority to keep either party in check.” It is called strategic voting and too bad more Albertans can’t follow that.

Thanks Les for your comments. What is so disturbing to the true conservatives in my world is the fact that the polls continue to show that biggest portion of Kenney’s support is coming from Rural Albertans and the big question is Why? We have a hard time believing it. After they deliberately tried to drive their doctors out so they can close their health care services and all the whining we have heard about the orphan well mess you would expect them to be a lot smarter, so why aren’t they?

By slashing taxes down to 8% from Notley’s 12% for their rich friends they have given away $9 billion and have basically rewarded the oil industry for creating the orphan well mess in the first place, and literally told the land owners that they have no intentions of helping them with the clean up. We expect the excuse will be that they can don’t have any money and it’s Ottawa’s fault so get them to help you.
