Letter: People will remember mask mandate vote

Mr. Mayor,

My friend and I carried signs in front of city hall for three days to ask you to mandate masks in our community. We were polite and non-threatening; however, the reaction by passersby was notably interesting.

There were many whom supported our efforts, but there were many that did not. Those that did not were often crude, swearing often, and some denied we were even in the midst of a pandemic.

Fortunately, the majority of our councillors had the wisdom and common sense to do the right thing, to vote for the mandate.

The people of Medicine Hat will remember this come election time.
